Jim Powers' Scenarios & Games (TTDP)
Re: Scenario Download Totals over 10,000
Mr. Jim Powers! Thank you very much for your kind attention to my website. It is going along very nicely. Here is the statistics for your two maps:
Russia Europart was downloaded 310 times
Russia Asiapart - 207 times
This will add you another 500 downloads, not that bad
As for the screensaver, I'm sure there is a program that can make screensavers out of pictures (i.e. screenshots). I'll try to find one and supply more information then.

TTD - Squares
Dear TTD Fans;
I present to you my latest (and greatest) scenario yet! This last scenario
is called "TTD - Squares"
This has been the most fun play-testing, that I've had in a long time, really. At first glance you'd
think it wouldn't be challenging, but, you're in for a 'run for your money'. With me not installing
any industries, guess what, you'll never know where industries will spring up.
That's one thing. Another is, without changing the city's landscape, you place your RR stations
only along the edges of the cities. There's very limited space and you must figure a way for the
trains to enter and exit, from both directions, without letting them jam up. Now, that's a whole
lot of thinking, my friends.
By now you know that the theme of "TTD - Squares" is TRAINS, TRAINS, AND MORE TRAINS!
You can expect hours of thrills and spills.
Always,
Jim Powers

- I didn't remove any buildings nor roads, but, just laid out the RR system around each city. Great fun!

This will go really well with the AU Set (lots of double-decker commuter trains), and the STA Set (trams/buses/light-rail).
Thanks for the inspiration Jim, saving it to my PC...

That's the Idea
Mr. Death;
That idea is that you are to have that responsibility. I'm playing this scenario. Right now
I want to make a highly effecient and profitable Passenger RR layout. I personally hate
"clogged" RR lines, due to an inefficient layout. So, after many enjoyable hours of figuring,
I'm starting to correctly lay these RR lines together. That was what I liked about one of my
other scenarios, "Mid Central rails". That scenario allowed me the same type of chance.
(Too bad not many people understood this.) Later, I will add the industries which I want,
and then connect them to complete the overall project. Meanwhile, one must contend with
those pesky ones coming when and where they want, which help make this an even more
challenging game, understand?
Mr, Raichase, First of all, Thank You and our pal Mr. Lakie for the scenario list being so quickly
updated. I really appreciate your faithfulness, and, of course you kind encouragement also, Sir.
This goes for my other TTD friends, Mr. Lightglobe and Mr. Weirdy, as well. Thanks Buddies.
Let's keep TTD alive and well forever!
Always,
Jim Powers

RR Layout
Mr. Geo.c Ghost;
You've got the right idea goin', my Pal. Question, what's the problem with using "cheat"?
I simply think of it as a 'Federal Loan'. Which I mark down and then repay it at a later date.
I, of course, don't know about The UK, but, I do know that in The States we have an item
called 'Small Businessman' Loan', which is meant to help the entrepreneur
start his/her business.
It's a Federal loan, kinda like a 'Student Loan'. So, I don't feel guilty about using it.
Anyway, I also "Leap-frog" my Bus and Truck stations towards the center of town, so as to
attain a higher passenger/mail accumulation.
This is some close-ups of my layout. Thanks for the input, Sir.

Jim Powers

I loved TTD-Squares, Jim. Loved it to hell.
A bit too networky and drastic and crazy for me, but fun nevertheless.
Also, Grandeur Gardens (In my opinion) is much better, cause it has hills and stuff, and spaces in between towns and in the suburbs to place massive stations in.
Meanwhile, TTD-Squares leaves you little choice in between cities, cause it's either a Terminus, or a cramped RO-RO.
Either way, both are nice, but Grandeur Gardens is much better.

Grandeur Gardens vs TTD - Squares
Mr. CeleronXL;
You make a good point, My Friend, and I always welcome input!
I know one thing for sure, and that is "Grandeur Gardens" is, by far, the most beautiful and also
one of the most difficult to make. It sure took me long enough to create it. On the other
hand, I just like making an effective Railroad system. This gives me the greatest satisfaction.
Did you use the water for transporting? I wound up using the canals and such more than any
other type of transit in this scenario.
Now, I'm back on Trains and "TTD - Squares", and really enjoying it. Thanks for writing.
Always,
Jim Powers

Re: RR Layout
Theres no problem with the cheats, i just didnt want to use them for onceJim Powers wrote:Mr. Geo.c Ghost;

Its more of a challenge now. I had a huge circular railway going, and one town wont let me build a station. Ohwell, thier loss
Typical though...
I was building this railway, then all of a sudden, a power station is build right in my way! oh well. Slows the trains down a little when they go around it, but it was rather funny!
Brillient Scenario Jim!
Jim: I didn't use the canals very much, I thought they were just there for decoration!
Mostly, I just raised the canals around the roads to let my MASSIVE system of trains from Rockford to New London/Albany Suburbia (The one with the 4 industries) get there faster without having a big lineup stretching the entire way.
