Coming soon!

Post by Jim Powers »

Dear TT-Forums Family;

As soon as I get the OK from the Norwegian and Netherlands teams
we'll be releasing not one, but two, yes 2 new scenarios. One of my
scenarios which I enjoyed making very much in named "Notable Norway".
Huge mountains in the classic Norwegian setting, allowing you plenty of
opportunities to either transfer materials and goods (commercial), or
transport passengers and mail to and from those beautiful towns, (ranging
mostly from 1,00 to 2,000 population.) And a couple of large cities.
I tried to be realistic AMAP.

The other one of my new scenarios is called "Noticeable Netherland" the land
of the Dutch civilization quite clean and refined indeed. This scenario gives
one the opportunity to make a fast-track passenger/mail RR System and also
keep up with the many industries which surround the villages and cities.
Don't mess around with the Dikes too much or you'll flood towns and industries
and loose your "Tycoon" title real fast!

Both of these last two scenarios were happily made in "Temperate Mode"
at the request of the team managers, who are all working on their country's
Railroad Train Set. This is truely going to be fun!

Both "Notable Norway" and "Noticeable Netherlands" will be perfect for
playing TTD during these next few cold months, by warming your heart
as you accomplish being a Transport Tycoon! :lol:

Here's some screenies.

Always,
Jim Powers

Good Morning Mr Powers!

That map is looking to be your best ever! I really can't wait to give it a try, and see what I can get up to :). I love both the maps - one has mountains (which is what I usually like to have a lot of), and the other is very flat (which will be fun for having a lot of express services!).

Thanks for sharing the pictures, and I will be excited to give them a try when they are released!

Scenarios

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Korenn;

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Sir. It makes me happy
to see someone help another. I hope I've done both the Dutch and
the Norwegians proud. I tried. :wink:

Mr. Raichase;

I'm always glad to hear from you, Sir. I hope you find these two
scenarios a lot of fun, 'cause that's why I make them so not only
I, but all the TTD Family can have a chance to hopefully enjoy them.

Thanks for your kind comments, Sir.

Jim Powers

Scenario Downloads

Post by Jim Powers »

DearTT-Forums Family;

For those who are interested, last time I checked, I've
had over 4,200 members download my scenarios in the
last 15 months, from TT-Forums alone! :shock: So, as long
as you are interested in playing my scenarios, I'll just keep
on makin' 'em.

Thanks, again, for all of you who encouraged and helped me
with 'info', maps, etc., this is the kind of teamwork that pays
off with a lot of hours of free time enjoyment, playing the
super game TTD!

Always,
Jim Powers :)

Mr. Jim Powers:

Your scenarios are terrific, thanks for making them and sharing with everybody else. I'm playing with the US Set, and using your scenario called western rails. It's a lot of fun.

I'd like to suggest you take a look at the open TTD forum, and check out the new size maps feature that was developed for that game. Perhaps you can eventually turn your scenario making skills towards those large maps, and came up with some for that game as well.

Cheers!

HERE IS NOTHER PERSON ASKING FOR AN OPENTTD map preferably in larger map form. that is if you have ottd jim. if you don't don't worry, BUT, if you do could you try to do a map of britain. please. nothing fancy just the motor ways with **6** lanes and all the associated junctions and towns/cities. if you need any help i am sure i can get what you need, except computer hardware, maps and the likes are very easy to find here in britain so just ask if you do do this map. Many applaudes and thanks for the undescribably excellent maps. Weirdy.

Guys...

I think Jim is busy enough making normal TT maps for all the various sets being released! Unless the majority of the TT community switches to OTTD, which they haven't yet, Jim should not feel any need to change how he makes his scenarios.

Keep up the good work Jim, and we will support you even if you do change to OTTD :tongue:.

Scenarios

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Daniel C.;

Thanks for your encouragement, Sir. I like to share with others.
That's actually the key to happiness. This goes for you Mr. Aegir,
you've always been supportive.

Mr. Weirdy;

I also thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments and
compliments, Sir. I sure am not really deserving of them.
I took a look and asked a good friend of mine about Open TTD.
I just don't feel that I am at a place to try to experiment with OTT
right now. Remember that I'm just a 'regular', who barely can keep
up with the new stuff, (which I'm very grateful for!), on TTDLX. So,
for the time being, I'm staying with TTDLX. OK? But thanks to all you
nice people that has asked me.

Now, as for Great Britain, if you want GB in regular TTD, I'd be more
than happy to make try to make one. Just send me (1) a map with
the major cities on it. (2) Elevation Map. And (3) either a map showing
industries, or information about it. This is important so that we can be
a bit more realistic. I try to at least create the general image of a country
in my scenarios, though I can't be truely accurate due to the limited tools
that are available in The Editor. I know a lot of maps of GB have been
already made, but, why not another one, who knows I might come up
with one that has a different type challange to it? :wink:

Mr. Raichase;

Thanks, Big Guy! I know I can always depend on your encouragement
and support.

Thanks Everyone for your tremenduos help and backing.

Always,
Jim Powers :)

Noticeable Netherlands

Post by Jim Powers »

Dear TT-Forums Family;

Here is one of my latest scenarios " Noticeable Netherlands".
Notice the fun you can have with the Sea-level and Below Sea-level
areas, making terrific money with some express comunicating type
trains. Just don't "break" any of thos many dikes, else you'll have
a major flooding problem! Unusually Entertaining. :shock:

Here's "Noticeable Netherlands"

Notable Norway

Post by Jim Powers »

Dear TT-Forums Family;

Here is the last of the two latest scenarios "Notable Norway".
This was a real tuff goal to make. Since Norway is long and slim,
and our map capability is mostly square, it made it quite tough to
get a decent perspective. But, I felt that I accomplished most of that.
Sorry, Mr. ThoRune, that it wasn't possible to make fjords and keep
those super high mountains. It's got plenty of room for trying to get
trains from city to city and to bring the many industry goods to market.
I'm playing this scenario and it's a super duper challenge to connect
around those huge mountains. Anyway, I'm havin' fun, Big Time!

Here's "Notable Norway" :D

Jim Powers

Hi Mr Jim Powers,

The problem is I've only installed TTD at one of my two PCs, and the other one is going to crash when start TTD. The one PC with TTD is mostly used by my brother, so I can't take a look at your scenario. Could you post some screenshots (or somebody else)?

Thx,

Purno.
