Temperate is best

Post by Jim Powers »

Dear Purno;

This scenario's origin began 2 or more years ago, when I 'tweaked' it from
a scenario that was on Mr. Rudge's Repository. I then expanded the quite
small cities and built a huge 4 line RR system running throughout the map.
It was called "Taming the Swiss". Then, when I found TT-Forums and
discovered that others might enjoy my scenarios, I made it available. The
other day, I thought it needed to be remodeled, now that we have better
'tools' to work with, but what happened was that I completely redid the
scenario, making only smaller cities, dumping the "roads" that I used for
showing where RR tracks ought to go, and revamping the mountains, and
added the connecting roads. Almost a 100% make over, thus a new and
different and beautiful scenario now called "Awesome Alps".

I hope this clears up why Temperate mode, and also the fact that Temperate
mode is the best, at least for me, at making scenarios. :wink:

It has challanges that were never installed before. I've been waiting

You have to supply a lot of goods into each city. normally, a city only grows when it is supplied with lots of goods and passengers. As those cities have been made big "artificially", they can not "support" themselfs once the real game starts.

So try to build a freight network and distribute the goods equally and frequently to each city.

And on the arctic and tropic maps try getting food, water and not only oil refinery and factory goods but paper goods.

-Just heresay, but i think getting coal to the towns power station also helps.

and funding new buildings every 3-6 months is a good way also

Make way for Japan, Soon!

Post by Jim Powers »

Dear TT-Forums Members;

It's almost time to make way for Japan!

Those guys on the Japanese team are doing an amazing
job of transforming TTD into a Japanese setting with Trees,
Trains and Buildings all so very cool! I think KRTaylor's team
is working overtime to make this all a possibility very soon.

Thanks guys!

Here's some screenies from one of my Japanese scenarios,
in game-play testing stage.

Here 3 trains are making their way over and through the many, many hills and mountains which surround "The Toyko Experience". Am I having a blast testing these Japanese trains? You Bet!

Russia's making progress

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Oleg;

I'm making, as I write, scenarios of both Russia-Europart and
Russia-Asiapart. This is, of course, a lot of work, as one would expect,
but, I'm making progress. I've got play-test and other scenario related
projects that I'm working on at the same time.

Is there anyone who is or who will be making Russian Trains?
Sounds like a good project for some of you graphic wizards.

Here is a screenie of the southern end of Russia-Europart, in it's
rough draft stage.

Jim Powers

Mr. Jim Powers!
I'm glad your work's going on. The screenshot is very promising, and I'm looking forward for the scenario.

As far as I know, the work on a project called xUSSR Set is going on, there are some nice screenshots available, but it is very far from accomplishment.

Mr. Powers:

I'm very glad to see that you are already running our Japan set, sir.
The final release will be out soon, I hope, and will include a lot of new buildings and a few new trains too.

Once this version with all the buildings, trees and grass on it is released, I'd like to see "The Tokyo Experience" just like a japanese big city should be 8) I liked a lot the previous version, and I'm sure the one with the Japan set buildings and environment will look awesome when you finish it, sir.

Regards,
Sanchimaru

Remarkable Russia

Post by Jim Powers »

Dear TT-Forums Family;

At the request of our Russian members, we've just completed a new
remarkable scenario called "Russia - Europart"! :)

I found some very amazing things about Russia while trying to make a
fairly accurate map of Russia. This scenario, "Russia - Europart",
is the 1st of two parts. This is the European section and Part II will be the
Asian section. There are high mountains, full of forests, coal and Iron ore,
and there are vast valleys and plains filled with huge farmlands and oil also.
you're gonna need some very good trains and trucks to get these goods to the
few cities dotted among this giant country!
So, good Luck making money, or should we say Rubels! :wink:

Here's "Russia - Europart", ENJOY!

(THE REVISED VERSION OF RUSSIA - EUROPART IS IN ANOTHER POST JUST BELOW THIS ONE)

Jim Powers

Revised Russia - Europart

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Oleg;

I thank you for correcting me on errors in my last scenario
"Russia - Europart". I've made the corrections and now we
have a new revised version of "Russia - Europart".
If you all who are familiar with the areas from which I make
my scenarios would do as Mr. Oleg did, then I believe we could
have even more fun enjoying TTD. Thanks again, Sir.:wink:

Scenes from Western Pacific Rails

Post by Jim Powers »

TT-Forums Family;

At the request of some of you I'm putting in screenies of my USA series
scenario "Western Pacific Rails". This is in the Tropic mode and I really like
the challenge "Western Pacific Rails" gives in suppling Food and Water to
the rather large cities located along the coast and south of the Rockies.

Here's 'screenies'.8)
