I'll add the metrotrack sources as soon as I polished the structure a bit up. Maybe you or planetmaker can set up a project page for it as sub-project of the 2cc set or something (or maybe as sub-project of a new heading "track sets" so that I eventually can add my tram tracks and transrapid tracks there as well).

Purno, you can expect a PM from me as soon as the polish is dry, to let you know that I'm putting the sources up :)

Thanks :)

By the way, since I didn't follow any progress the past ehm... lots of months, does anyone know if there are any other sets which rely on the metro GRF, besides the 2ccSet and this Bridge set?

Not that I know yet of. Though in my opinion it might be a nice addition to some Japanese commuter trains.

Ah well, perhaps when the set is supported by some bridge and road sets, it might get used more. The graphics are GPL'd now anyways. :P

That's good news :-) That makes it really easy then to actually make these newgrfs all compatible :-) - it still needs starting and someone to actually tackle it though...
There are so many things I'd like to do... and so little time. But I fixed a few pure white things and nfo warnings in the bridge set :-)

I apologise that I do not have time to read this whole thread, but am I right in thinking that this set only supports the original roads and NA roads ? Not UK or European roadsets ?

Well, what I wonder. Should the bridge sets support the road sets, or should the road sets support the bridge sets?

Good question. And both answers are valid. But as I guess that there's only one major bridge set around (this one), this set might as well support the different roads and rails. Though when I think longer about it, this is exactly a good reason for the opposite...

Basically it needs someone with time at his/her hands and first adding those sprites which already exist for this bridge set. Everything is available. I'm willing to supply to the willing coder the sprites which I collected from this thread and which could be included here.

The original TBRS as released by Thergo (v1.12) only has support for the original roads. Smaug released two updated versions (although they are based on Thergo's original v1.11) that support the NA Road Set and the late model TTRS roads.

Yes, and since those releases I've been working on a snow version with TTRS roads and CZ Rails, and a set with OpenGFX roads and tracks (with and without snow). However, none of those sets have been released yet because they're not yet finished. Beside that I repaired a few graphic errors in TBRS - aswell in nfo as in pcx - that I planned to implement in the next release(s).

This summer there were to much private things on my mind and therefor I had no time to work on the sets... I expect to continue this autumn. :)

with the original bridges the road deck changes depending on any roadsets you have.

is there any way that this could be done in this GRF...
(presumably the roadset would have to be loaded before the bridge grf for it to find the sprites but there should be some way of doing it)

As far as I know that is only for any road sets whose authors have taken the time to add them to the original bridges.

PLEASE NOTE The recent discussion has been foccussing on road sets, probably due to the variety of roads available around the world. Everybody seems to forget that the major focus of TTDX is rail. TTDPAtch (and I assume OTTD as well) has long included standard gauge rail, electric rail and narrow gauge rail. I realize that a narrow gauge rail version of these bridges has been done, primarily for NARS compatibility. Unfortunately that version is all or nothing. Would somebody please, PLEASE take some time and effort to recognize that there are several other train sets that support not just Standard or Narrow Gauge, but Standard and Narrow Gauge (Not to forget Electric), ALL in the same game! I have stopped using this set because of this limitation and until proper simultaneous Standard AND Narrow gauge support are provided, I will recommend to anybody to avoid using this set. TTRS has a much more satisfying implementation. This is a veritable shame as the TBRS graphics are excellent and very deserving of much better treatment.

then why don't you do it? just extract the grf, get a image editor, and a bit of patience

A narrow gauge version has already been done as a stand alone release for use with NARS. It does not include standard gauge. The TTRS and TTDX default bridges both support Standard Gauge AND Narrow Gauge such that both gauges can be used in the same game which is essential for those train sets that feature both gauges for simultaneous use.

What can be done, (for which I do not have the skill set) is that the TBRS code be upgraded to include the code for the Narrow Gauge tracks. I realize that this would take a bit of effort on the coder's part, but seeing as how others have already done it for other bridge sets, and the required graphics have already been done (and coded), there is not a whole lot of extra effort required.

Of course there is, I "did" it! :P

Hello,
i would like to change the code, that no bridge can be longer than 10 Tiles. Is this allowed?? I would lik to publish the "new" grf for use in a szenario-contest!
