Thanks, but that failed. :-(

I signed up and was told to wait for email with a confirmation link. E-mail was transferred and disappeared somehow - it did not appear in my inbox, and not in my spam folder either. So I cannot log in or use password reset because I don't exist yet. Much worse, I cannot re-register either because the login (Hafting) and the email address "are in use already!".

I don't exist for login purposes, but I have sufficient existence to be rejected as a duplicate. And I cannot find contact information at openttdcoop.org for resolving this. (I could re-register under a different name even though I'd hate that - but my email is in use anyway.) Who is capable of deleting the failed registration so I can register again? (or possibly resend the message)

hm, that's unfortunate that registration didn't work out in that fashion as it usually does. I'll have to investigate what happend with that e-mail. And indeed it might need more than a link to IRC in case of problems

Anyhow, I activated your account manually and added you the the Norwegian (bokmal) translators.

Thanks again. I have now updated the Norwegian translation. Mostly new stuff, and a few fixes.

andythenorth wrote:Ok, so this is a good report. In 1.2.0 hotel behaviour was changed to prospecting. This was done by changing the industry type to 'primary'.

This change had an unintended consequence that hotels would close sometimes, which was reported multiple times as a bug. I 'fixed' that in 1.3.0 by changing the industry type back to 'black hole', which can't be prospected for.

There is a better fix for this, but I can't do it right now.
Would those hotels close even if they were in use?

Wait, DELETE? Oh, crap, I didn't catch that part... I thought it was a poll asking which economy you liked BEST!

I only play with Full FIRS because I like how expansive and challenging it is to try to meet all the cargo needs.

Pretty sure it was, and he then changed the text.

Please don't misrepresent my opinion by changing poll titles/options.

I'm fairly sure it's a joke, but I still hate it.

That really shouldn't be possible, anyway.

Oh, it's definitely a joke. Don't worry about it.

OH GOD ANDYTHENORTH MISREPRESENTED THE OPINION OF US ALL!

THIS VERY SERIOUS THING MUST BE REPORTED AND HE SHALL BE JUDGED!

On another note, I drew some scheme how could a well-systematic scheme look.

Key parts:
1. motivation to connect both farms and mines as they need each other
2. no choice between goods and supplies, because it does not make sense to produce goods anyway (higher profit is not a reason if you are missing supplies then)
3. new chains can easily be added if you add a new cargo (new type of supplies). E.g. Coal + iron ore + scrap metal -> steel mill -> steel + something -> steel trading post (could be a machinery factory in this case) + something to towns

You will still not escape paying for your utter crimes as you DARED to make FLHerne angry for SERIOUS reasons!

I like the idea of a beer trading post. What is it he says? "Hmm, beer".

Yes, I know it's not meant to be taken seriously. I still don't like it, it sets a bad precedent, and demonstrating the possibility could encourage people to actually abuse it.*
I'm more concerned that it could be exploited for reasons I care about, but stealing my opinion to demonstrate a forum exploit is annoying by itself anyway.

*Yes, I'm paranoid sometimes. Get over it. :P

Also, that economy idea is neat. :)

I like it, apart from one small element. I can see how metal and wood products could be farm supplies (tools, later on machinery etc), but i'm scratching my head as to how beer turns into engineering supplies, sort of "beer makes miners work harder" which is awesome but, suspect :P I could stretch it and say I can see how farm products might (leather straps, rope, candles or something) but beer...

As an actual economy, looks fantastic.

That is the hack andy brought with ports, an industry that can exchange anything to anything -> which helps to create a solid system without breaking the sense (too much) :)

Ah gotcha :) Makes sense now.

Still the idea that beer makes people work harder brought back fond memories of the Settlers series :)

So the ports 'hack' just requires one little change in thinking.

Traditional TTD: all industries process input to output. It must be plausible, rational, logical and grounded in reality, or the community will be sad.

FIRS: adds trading industries. Anything can make anything. WTF? It's awesome.

You misinterpreted it. It's the promise to get beer, what makes miners work harder. :-)

I was thinking for that food to mines, that there're people who live all year round at mines, no ? (there's no option to transport workers to mines or industries either)
