*** Forum fundraiser 2023 [£501.08 / £500.00 raised] ***
As regular visitors will know, these forums are run on a voluntary basis, funded partially by advertising, but mostly by your very generous donations. While donations are accepted all year, I like to post this topic once a year to try to get enough donations to run the site for the upcoming year.
The forums are still busy with a good number of visitors, but expenses are up due to exchange rate changes and server costs rising, so we are aiming for £500 of donations again (around US $600, or €565), to help cover as much of the expense of running the forums as possible. Your generosity is hugely appreciated - without your help, the forums may not exist today. If you could spare even just a few pounds, dollars, euros, or whatever currency you use, to help the forums, it will be a great help.
Instead of a single large donation, you may wish to consider sending a regular monthly donation, if this is something you can afford. Hosting for the forums is paid monthly, so this can help to spread things around a bit. If you'd be interested in donating like this, please let me know.
You can find the donation page here. Donations can be taken by PayPal (including credit/debit card payments - you don't need a PayPal account) and direct bank transfer (including international bank transfers). Within the UK, I can also accept cheques and postal orders. If there is another way you would like to donate, let me know and we can figure something out. Your donations are very much appreciated.

If you don't want to, or can't, send a monetary donation, you can use our Amazon affiliate links when you shop at Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com or Amazon.ca. Again, the donations page here explains that.
Please note that donations to OpenTTD are NOT donations for the forums; the forums and OpenTTD are unconnected (although I process donations for both, they are held and recorded separately). To donate to the forums, please use this link, not the link on the OpenTTD web site.
Thank you all for your support. Please let me know if you have any questions. (This announcement will be removed in the future.)

Maybe I am just too tired, but the topic starter is confusing in my opinion.
The subject is 'Forum fundraiser' and the first two alineas are about the forum as well.
But near the bottom of the posting it says: "To donate to the forums, please use this link, not the link on the OpenTTD web site."
Now you have lost me

OpenTTD (the game) has its own link on openttd.org for donations for the development and hosting of the game.Yisc wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023 18:42 Maybe I am just too tired, but the topic starter is confusing in my opinion.

This is to pay for hosting for this website, which is separate from OpenTTD.

Re: *** Forum fundraiser 2023 [£0.00 / £500.00 raised] ***
Thank you for all your support so far - I’ll update the total when I’m next at my PC and can add it up, but I think we’re around £100 already!
Regarding the OpenTTD bit, I personally handle donations for OpenTTD as well as the forums. The PayPal links on the OpenTTD site will include a tag marking them as for OpenTTD, so won’t count towards the TT-Forums fundraiser. There has occasionally been confusion in the past about this.

We are amazingly at 25% of the total already - thank you so much for your support!

I had to rack my brains trying to think of the train game I loved playing maybe 9 years ago (according to my original forum join date), I remembered it had signals which helped immensely. Reinstalled Railroad Tycoon 3. Nope, not that, uninstalled.
Anyway, here's £20.23 to help out. Thanks for a great game and fab forum.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far, it is - as always - extremely appreciated!

I sent a few bucks from Paypal, it's not much because operating with PP balance from Argentina is practically a criminal operation that is totally forbidden and blocked by the central bank.

I'll be happy to contribute once my next paycheck comes around. January 2023 is known as the "poorest month of the decade"
My Scenarios:
Archipiélago Hermoso (Latest Release: Version 3.2)
Turnpike Falls (Latest Release: Version 0.91)

Thank you very much to everyone who has donated - over half way there now!
No problem, Andrex - your contribution is greatly appreciated. And Chrill, please don't worry about donating if you have more important things to spend your money on!
