Tyne & Wear Metro Scenario

Post by Northern »

I took a little bit of time recently to develop a scenario i couldn't find in the forums for the T&W Metro, the geography is a little off however its mostly accurate and can provide space for the majority of Metro stops and infrastructure:

The newest scenario (V4.1) is available here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6q5rjnr65fy33 ... 20V4.1.scn

You can download the Metro Car from a previous thread i found here:

http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=706808#p706808

I hope you enjoy the scenario and please do offer suggestions on how to improve it :)

Interesting. Especially how the towns seem to mostly be station names. Overall with my limited Newcastle knowledge it seems roughly OK. Would be better with a little terrain to spice up building. ;) - Good first job though!

Wow, cool! Would be good with the UK set too, to provide the shared running to Sunderland.

Edit: Seems to need one of the old Cargodist patch versions to run. Won't run on my standard nightly as it gives the 'invalid chunk size' error.

A version of CargoDist is now a part of regular OpenTTD nightly revisions.

NEWEST VERSION:

This version is a complete redo of the scenario, it is however the same as V3.2 hovever offers the ability to use the scenario on newer OTTD game versions including the Spring 2013 Patchpack

Another update, providing the chance to operate the 'mainline' between Sunderland and Ryton with all inbetween stations; There is also the ability to open several new line opportunities into the West of the City from St James or to follow real life lines which have closed such as the one down to Washington as a Metro line (all UK rail sets are now included)

What, specifically is the "latest version of OpenTTD" that you're running?

1.3.3 Win64. I downloaded it last night.

I used to play openTTD a lot on my old pc, but i decided to dl it to my new laptop, and I'm pretty interested in this scenario with me being from Sunderland and I use the metro often....well, at least a few times a year.

This scenario was probably created with either a nightly test version or the OpenTTD 1.4.0 beta.

Yeah I've even tried with the Spring 2013 PP and can't get any of them to load. No idea what was used to create it.

Sorry about the delayed response I've been a little busy:

This version MRO V4 is for the Spring 2013 Patch Pack https://www.dropbox.com/s/p55vpsjz5ct8v ... 0V4.scn?m=

And the others V3+ were all designed for the old cargo dist

I'm going to discontinue my work on the old Cargo Dist version and concentrate it all on developing a comprehensive map consisting of the whole of T&W on the Spring PatchPack version.

Can't install the springpatchpack, i tried to download it and the download went to 550 mb, and i sensed something was wrong and stopped the dl...why would a version of ttd be so large?
