I figured I'd post this one up too and see if you like it:

Important! This is not a scenario just a map: There is only one industry and one vehicle enabled (jinty :P) so you'll have to select those yourself. Also; no airports (cause I don't remember what's what) and default roads and signals are British style.

I tried sommat new with this one too (see screenshots) it's supposed to be a dam or a wier (ruddy high wier) When I tried out the map I ended up replacing the road with rail. Enjoy :)

EDIT! Apologies; as I never originally intended to release this, it was not made under a clean install. The map requires Plastikmans Automod and extended paper cycle industry packs (autoparts.dat, autos.dat, plastic.dat, scrap.dat & woodchps.dat)

Both your landscapes look very nice :) , though I'm missing the "AUTOPRTS" object. It's probably from Plastikman's set I'd guess.

Anyway, it's best to use an alternative clean Loco install for landscapes/scenarios so endusers don't need to download the mods too. If you'll have a clean version of those two landscapes in the future, I'd love to try them.

aw man, I hoped I'd been smart and avoided having to fiddle around with that, I'll re-name dat folders and get a clean vers. up after dinner :)

EDIT: ::slaps self:: um, that's not gonna work coz I won't be able to open them myself, doh!

I'll work out exactly what mods both maps ask for and edit the original post. I never intended to release these originally or I would have definitely made them with a clean dat folder. I'll no doubt make a few more now I'm playing loco again, so rest assured I'll do those with a clean game :)

Oh bugger, I was looking forward to trying them. :( I'm quite sick of using the random landscape each time I test my vehicles, this would have been great. :)

I thought there was a tool to switch mods on/off in savegames and it worked on landscapes as well? But I might be wrong because of all the beer I just consumed...

Btw how did you create those landscapes? From grayscale images? They look very idyllic, love the secluded mountain lakes - would've been perfect for my mountain EMUs.

I made them by hand (yes it takes a while) I find greyscales with mountains in often leave you with no real breathing space to build railways and you often end up with a totally different landscape after running between a few towns. I did toy with making my own greyscales but I ended up doing just as much editing on it afterwards anyway.

Mapmaking/worldbuilding has always been something I enjoy as a change.. red alert, warcraft, generals, morrowind, oblivion, ttdx, simcity. And I have to agree, the random lanscapes suck. I just wish there was a plataeu tool in the ingame editor.

I was actually thinking of doing an alpine style valley, where it's virtually snowy all the time, only the lowest part of the valley floor would dry out in the summer. It was either that or a desert lanscape. So I'll see what I can do this week

My vote would be for a desert landscape.

Wow, this looks like a really nice landscape... I'm just frightened of the high mountains, as I always make a flat landscape with no hills at all... but looking at this I'm thinking of facing my fears
Good work there buddy.

All three of soundwave's scenario's come up with the AUTOPRTS dat missing if its not loaded thats why I won't do any landscapes or scenario's put politely my obj dat folder is a mess and there is no way I could product a clean landscape. I was looking forward to using them but I won't be loading up a scenario set just to use them, sorry
