wow thats nice to see the surfliner... how about the other amtrak california f59phi and superliners from san francisco!

and if you got those, why not go all the way and make a local commuter train set with Metrolinks, CalTrain, GO, Sounder, and Metra etc.... just so you dont see nothing but AMTRAK ingame when they took over.

=)

To reply to the topic title; yes, we all are excited to have new mod's.

I stopped playing locomotion a few months ago, and got back into playing it, as there was a whole lot of new mods  .

That's a pretty good idea. But you forgot about the east coast commuter trains like LIRR, MNRR, NJT, SEPTA, MBTA Commuter, and MARC.

yeah. I know I didnt mention the East coast commuter as I am from the west coast hehe.. NJT would be cool! I would love to see if you could get the safty bars to show up in-game on the f40 or F59ph (whatever they use)

ALSO... there are some other pretty cool looking US commuter stuff from I think as early as the 60s with bi level cars, I know souther pacific, Rock island and a few other roads had them..they are kinda unique looking.. especially teh SP stuff, it looked like it was being pulled by a freight loco

People are modding it, but quality of the stuff coming out seems to be the constant of what Msts2Loco can do, and most of the custom stuff doesn't fit in with rest of the Loco rolling stock, or rest of Loco for that matter.

I think only locos & wagons that came out that actually look like they came with the game were the ones made by PikkaBird.

True, but it does the job for me.

Yes; PikkaBird is the new IA I think, how ironic, we lose a great modder like IA, and we gain another... go PikkaBird!!!.

Unless i am mistaken, no. Pikkabird made a few trains for Locomotion ages and ages ago, but now only works on TTDP and for Trainz as he gets paid to work on Trainz as his models are rather nice..

Sorry for the lack of updates on this set. It is pretty much done. just needs to be cleaned up and polished. waiting on permission on one or 2 pieces and i was still painting a few items. i was sidetracked by something quite awsome in lomo that people will see soon!

if someone can find me some good shots of the amtrak Tolga it might make this release. otherwise i am not happy with the one i have at all.

i could not find any models of the budd metroliner EMU so i made one from scratch. it is not exacly dead on but eehhhh.. it works. there is a serious lack of information and pictures on the net of it. it might make this release or the NEC pack who knows. i was holding of on electrics untill i could figgure out the pantagraph animations, alto in searching for it. with marc we found somthing else!!!!

ill try and get some shots of it posted today. i wanted to release it today. maybe in a few days.. gives me a chance to beta test it...

Ok, all packaged up just waiting on the ok to use the superliner body I used for the superliners and the Surfliners.

Part of the delay was the discovery of working running gear. (OMFG it is about time we had steamers) and while trying to further my understanding of the perfect running gear... i ran into a new thing.. i know a lot of people say the msts conversions have a black hole effect and ruin the model.. well i guess i found away around that also, but damn it is overkill i have not found a dimmer for it yet .. as you can see my little F7 and E9 are a little to bright. hrmm as much as i would love to go and fix this whole pack i think ill just put it out as is untill i n can figgure the light out a little better then re-release at a later.. later date... there must be a dimmer....

You could tweak your lighting setup a little, your locos are overly dark compared to Locomotion stuff in some views..

[Edit] answer @ post below, norfolksouthern37, thats nice, i did read the posts, i just missed the part that he uses msts2loco.
You know you could've made your post like MajorDuck, it contains more facts and less, smarting.

is that not due to the fact that he uses the msts2loco tool, which has the lighting problem?

Yeah, it is somthing that bugs me too. trust me.

I have been busy reverse enginering msts models bigtime to try and improve my conversions and compenste for the few things that MSTS2LoMo cant do. the other thing that is wrong with msts2lomo is it creates a leaning effect on hills. the camera angle is off a bit. It is a great tool and I love having New stuff to play with so much, I tend to ignore the bugs. I'll just keep on going with its limitation. zipping up and storring my source models in hopes that one day the program with be updated.

I saw the source code is available. MY VB skills are not the best i only took 2 classes for it so.. I was hoping someone with more skill took intrest in it.

Don't you have anykind of 3d modelling program, like Maya or 3dsmax, or Lightwave?

Ok, one more posting, If you want to load a Shape file of MSTS in a 3D editor, the model will become corupt (e.g. missing texture files etc, and its illegal (Copyright things)).

If you are meaning to do 3D design, in such program, then its possible, but few people can do thet :)
