BR Set [WIP][EXPERIENCED AND NEW ARTISTS WANTED!]

Post by Dave »

The BR Set Thread

The BR Set aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the railways in the UK.

From the early steamers of the Big Four to the nationalised rationalisation and the end of the steam, to the modern day tilting vehicles and container freight, the set will encompass one hundred and ten years of history of our railways, and an imaginative spin on the future of the railway industry.

Well, the BR Set was started loooong before the UKRS, so good luck with it. :)

So, apart from the things already drawn, what is actually going to be in this?

I'm just wondering.

WhiteHand: I just felt we needed a fresh and new start. I think the whole concept should be discussed once more as a group.

2-10-0: We shall see. We just need to get a couple more involved then we'll have a short meeting.

Good luck! To get people interested and, possibly, involved, you'll need at least a list of vehicles stating what's drawn already, what needs improvement, and what needs drawing from scratch.

Looking forward to seeing something like that.

Fair point Snail, but I think this is high time we had a group thing. I'm all for capitalist dictatorships, but I fancy a bit of a communist agreement here - votes are required, ideas need to be put forward.

I agree with Snail - write up a list, include what already exists, and then invite argument. It's a whole lot easier to get people talking about the merits of an existing list, than writing one up from scratch.

I suggest also that you should advertise the set, and your site for it, with a link in your sig.

GIGANTIC LINK TO A BUNCH OF OLD (pre-old tracking table/wiki) GRAPHICS.

This is not all of the graphics, just every one from the original topic made before the BRSet wiki/tracking table. Hope it helps.

Hi... Long time since we said anything - two days... oh well.

Right, using the AMI website (thanks to Andel, MajorDuck, Illegal Alien and all the other contributors to the BR Set for Locomotion), I've devised Diesel and Electric Locomotive lists - only provisional, since we'll have to cut them down to fit into TTD. There may be some particulars missing, or there may be some that you take issue with. If you would like to include Steam Locomotive (I assume this is a must for you guys), then suggestions should also be posted here - I'm not sure how we're going to work that though, maybe just the famous steamers? We'll see... Anyhow:

*SEE ABOVE FOR LIST*

In reference to what's already drawn, they can be found at the links of Born Acorn and others above. Let's just get a definite list of what's in and what's not first.
