I think sometimes it's enough to mark some windows as broken or make damp patches on the walls... All the buildings in Open TTD look like brand new, while we all know the reality isn't like this ;)

But the ruins are also great, thank you very much! The first ghost town is about to be built! :]

I had the plan to include them in a personal GRF (as they are under Creative Commons license).
But maybe it is worth contacting George to ask if you may use these graphics under GPLv2 in your GRF's...

A smaller proposal for fences - how about making noise barriers for highways? A couple of suitable solid fences are already there, it would be enough to raise them.
Something like this

Yep .. I did 3 types. Find them where Kamnet mentioned.

There is also some other high fences there as well that might be ok to use as sound proof fences.

Long time ago .. I seen somewhere in forum where someone else also did some really tall sound proof fences .. but just not remember who that was :oops:

Subjects: Dairy Cattle

When cattle head to the dairy for milking they usually in a line following the same path. So thought I have a go at making some.
This image shows the cows on the way to be milk.

When doing this I wonder if I should separate the animals and place everything associated with that animal in the same menu.

At the moment I have all the cattle in Menu called Cattle. The dairys and all the cattle all in one menu.

Plan to do same with the sheep, horses, and pigs.

See if can have all this ready by next weekend.

Some time ago one of our forum members called "Aegir" showed me how to have objects placed automatically at the very start of a game.
It a set of objects that are randomly placed on the map. You can not place these manually.

I did do a Cloud set called AuzObjectMODs some time ago. This is a improved version with extra objects added.

It has clouds (a tile with rocks shows you where to bulldoze if you now want that cloud where it is), old houses, people riding horses, ruins, windmills, farm dams, water troughs, people camping and fallen trees.

Appreciate if some of you test it for me and maybe have some ideas of other objects that could randomly be placed any where on the map.

* I did try water objects but they also ended up on rivers. Like to code so only in large bodies of water.
* Objects that only build on hills .. as like to add some of the radar and communication towers.

Added some more pigs to the farm set.

They are multi select.
The pigs in the Pig Stys face South-West and South-East and have 8 tiles to choose from. 4 with mud and 4 with out.
Then there is a 5 multi select with no fences with 4 of pigs in mud and one just the mud.
Then there is 4 of pigs no fences or mud.

Hope these ready my the weekend.

In farm Objects have room for just 5 more objects. Once it is full I do NOT plan to do a add-on for the farms.

Can you think of a farm object that is missing?

I try it and it's great!
Although I haven't found people camping yet, not even a person on a horse, but I'll wait, maybe they will appear in a while ;-)

I thought of making a skydiver, not only how he landed on the grass, but how about who accidentally landed on a tree? Or a car that went on a rally and got lost.
Further on, resting road workers in orange vests or policemen (my idea is: the car is parked somewhere in a meadow and people lying down are resting around it)... A hunter who goes for a walk with his dog. Lovers :-D Abandoned container... I also thought of a small illegal dump, but probably no one in the game would want that...


I'm adding a picture of what I see in the game ;-)

That where I need you and other testes to let me know if there not enough or maybe to many of the objects on their maps.
I can adjust them before next update.

Also wonder if a parameter can be added so you can set your own.
The code is count_per_map256: 20; (where the 20 is indicates how many will appear on the map).

I found a coding problem with the windmills, camping, horse riders and Dams. I used multi-select coding for them and I should have just made them single sets.

In process of fixing and also adding parameters so you can pick and choose what you want on your map.

Subject: Test Upload


Been fiddling with the Auz Autoplace Objects and version 2 now available for testing and comments.

Changelog:
* Added Parameters t0 all the objects so you can turn off what you not want loaded.
* Fixed coding to Windmill, Dams, Troughs, Camping and Riding Horses so see more of them.
* Fixed clouds so they also on water
* Added Crocodiles (you can call them alligators if like)
* Added kids in canoes
* Added people in boats fishing.

Remember these can not be added to a game in progress.

If you can think of anything else I could add let me know.

Some of those ideas might be ok. Maybe an abandon car, old farm machinery, old tractor, cross country motor bike riders to name a few with what you mentioned.

But I would code these so only a few would appear .. not to many.

I have contact George and he has given me permission to use them.
So I will add some of these to the "Ruins and Constructions" in my AuzTownObjectsAddOns.
I think many other parts would go well in other object sets too.
If there is any part that you would use as a object let me know.
An interesting use of the yellow trucks with cranes on them like in this photo I took on Thursday where a dog trailer broke lose from the main truck and roll and lost its bulldozer.
