No planes!

Hello! My first post here...

I started a new game a while ago, temperate climate, a few newgrfs with the zBase set. Now, about 7 years in, I tried to build my first airport, only to find that I can't build them, nor do I have any available planes. Is there anything I can do? The weird thing is, when I start a new game with the EXACTLY same settings, the airports are there as normal.
The easiest thing would be to just start a new game, but I've managed to build a neat little network in those few years which I would very much like to keep

What year are you in, which vehicle grf (if any) are you using and in the settings - how many planes can a company have? It's not set to zero is it?

The year is 1947, I always start at 1940, but there are planes available even that soon. As for vehicle grfs, the only one that concerns planes is World Airliners Set. Then there are a few train and bus sets, but that is all. All in all a pretty standard setup I played many times before. And as I said, when I start a new game with the same settings, everything works as it should.
Lastly, the limits are set to default values, which is about 200 for planes, IIRC.

EDIT: Oh, the "Build airport" button is actually greyed out, I can't even click it!

World Airliners Set replaces default OpenTTD planes, but doesn't introduce planes until the 1980s.

Ah, so that's the problem. Thanks, I didn't know that... oh well, it seems the only way is to start a new game. Pity. I take it there isn't a way to add a newgrf into an ongoing game?

Not without modifying some settings and risking completely corrupting your game. It's much safer and better to start a new game.
