Turning Trains Around
Help Again! Please!!
i have built a railway with two line; one per direction, with a criss-cross effect (an X in the the track) for the trains to turn around. This 'junction' controlled by signals just ahead of the junction, however my trains refuse to turn around to head in the right direction. They head for the wrong station in order to head in the right direction. How do I get my rolling stock to use my junction, or whta type of junction should I construct?
Ta very much.

Re: Turning Trains Around
A screenshot would be handy. At the moment, just guessing here but it sounds as if you might be trying to use 90 degree corners, which by default in OTTD are 'impassible'
Re: Turning Trains Around
Okay. How do I post a screenshot?
Re: Turning Trains Around
Upload it as an attachment.

Re: Turning Trains Around
Try it as a PNG (preferrable), JPEG or GIF. Those will display here by default. Not everybody has a program that can view PCX.

Re: Turning Trains Around
Okay, but now I'm being really stupid! Using OpenTTD's screen shot facility saves it as a 'PCX' file, as does doing a printscreen from the PC. Is there another way?
Sorry to be a pain...!

Re: Turning Trains Around
For trains to be able to turn around at an X the setting in the first screenshot must be disabled. If that does not fix it a savegame might be easier to see what happens.hippyboy wrote: Help Again! Please!!

For running games you must change the setting ingame.
By default the setting is disabled, meaning trains can make 90 degree turns.SquireJames wrote: A screenshot would be handy. At the moment, just guessing here but it sounds as if you might be trying to use 90 degree corners, which by default in OTTD are 'impassible'
