I would not bother too much about covering the playingfields with snow (or just do them fully snowed without players/spectators).
Roofs of the stands could get a bit of snow though.

That is how I done them. Just the goal posts are showing.
Roofs of the stands could get a bit of snow though.
Done some of the grand stands .. just a few left to finish.

Should the car racing roads get snowed under or did the racing club clean the snow off so racing can continue all year round?

Shall look at these Friday as in 20 minutes time I going to go catch a bus and it can take me to a railway station and then I going train riding for the day.

Cheers

American football: If the field is inside a stadium with an open roof then usually it's either artificial turf with a heated surface, or a natural grass surface that gets a light dusting of snow, you can usually see the grass. If it's super-heavy they'll use a plow to clear the whole field, but most of the time they'll scrape or blow the snow off 20-30 yards of the field as the play progresses.

Image

Auto racing: they don't race in snow for the most part. The rare ones that doe explicitly race on non-asphalt (usually dirt or sand) tracks with winterized equipment like snow tires. In North America tracks are only active from late spring to early fall. Cars that depend on hot tires for traction on dry tracks usually don't fare well when tracks are cold and wet/icy.

AuzSportsObjectsV18
Subject: Adding snow

Here the update to Auz Sport Objects.

Most of them now are snow aware. Basically just some parts of the car racing sets and some large stadiums with out roofs still need snow.

I having problems remembering what I doing with coding so I think it time for me to have a break from coding for a while. Might be a few days .. and might be a lot longer. It been taking me many hours to do something that I should have been able to do a lot quicker.
So time to relax the brain and hope works better later.

Cheers all

Thanks for your thoughts.

When I feel up to it what I intend to do is upload every object project I did so far and the source. Also add what version it is as some I have not done that yet.

Every thing I have did are all available for any one to use any way they like.

Changes to Object Sets.

These changes should NOT affect games in progress.
Change Log:
* You most likely already have the latest versions and not really need some of them .. they will only have some minor changes such as:
** Many would not allow a normal bridge to cross over them .. fixed what I could find in all sets.
** They will all have a "V" and a number to show what version it is and also date changes was made.
** Will also upload source files to all object sets.

If all goes well hope to upload all I done by end of week except.

Road Object sets

Changes I intend to make with these are as follows:
* If your using the following you will need to get the repair gang to work to repair if use in a game already in progress.
* "AuzRattRoadsObjects" and "AuzRoadSignObjects" I plan to combine these together.
- "AuzRattRoadsObjects" has 15 spare IDs and "AuzRoadSignObjects" only using 32 IDs.
- So I will change some objects in "AuzRattRoadsObjects" into multi tile select and make room for the "AuzRoadSignObjects" and hope also have room for additions at a later date.
- Seen some road signs that do not align properly. For instance Give Way and Stop Signs are about 8 pixels short of the junctions. Like to move these forward to almost end of tile.

Re-Road Object sets

Slowly doing more to this set.

Added Over Head Road signs and trying some billboards.
Not sure if the billboards might be a bit big.

Roadsigns3.png (30.35 KiB) Viewed 2790 times
Change Logs:
* Removed object roads with fences.
* The Road Sings are now Multi-Select.
* Adding Billboards.
* Added Overhead Road Signs.
* Added some small old style service stations.
* Removed the crash barriers (for the time being as looking at idea making invisible tram tracks for these)

What still to be done:
* Finish the billboards as only done the one direction so far. Trying to decide if the size I did be suitable.
* Need to place snow on the object roads.
* Like to add a few more object road lanes.
* More ideas in the pipe line.

WARNING: If you have a game in progress using the previous AuzRattRoadObjects then this new set WILL cause problems with it.

You can TEST what I done so far if like .. both game file and source been uploaded .. but be warned it is NOT finished..

This sign should be reversed if placed on the right hand side of the road.

Billboards look about right if placed next to freeways.

On a related note, any interest in making weigh stations like this one?

I have thought about those. Shall look into it. These would also make a good suggest for fridaemon to add to his Waypoints :D

Good .. I will now finish these for both directions and maybe add a few more.

Cheers

EDIT:

Made these truck inspection stations based on one between Newcastle and Sydney NSW Australia located at Mount White.
The office will look at a few designs and building materials.

Looking at 2 ideas.
1. Just as objects and animate them so trucks in bay will change to different types as regular intervals. Also try do some arrival and departure roads.
2. Allow the building that truck enter be overlap so you can have a road going through it. Some road sets have concrete roads with a low speed which I think be ideal passing through the inspection station.

Not get a chance to do any more to this till tomorrow, possible Monday.

More cheers

Re-Road Object sets

Whats been happening with the set today.

Practiced with "truck inspection stations" as shown in last post.

This evening did more billboards and some road signs that cover only 1/2 a lane as shown in this image.

Before I upload next update, I see if I can make the "truck inspection stations".

I've coded in the object pieces for truck inspection stations Office building and the inspection bay.

This what they can look like.
Truck Inspection Stations2.png
Truck Inspection Stations2.png (31.58 KiB) Viewed 2422 times
The approach roads and the trucks parked are objects. The concrete road each side of the inspection bay are from my Auz Road Sets.

Next to come:
* The Inspection bay plan to do a overlap set so trucks can actually pass through them and maybe hide a truck loading bay under it.
* Add proper truck parking areas
* Add trucks waiting.

If any truck drivers out there and been in a truck inspection stations can give me some ideas what I could add to these.

Cheers

Since I'm now used to playing with road stops, perhaps in addition to the overlap version you could also include just the office and rest of the tiles for the stop so we can put our own road stops in? Other than that, it looks really good.

Haven't did the overlaps yet ,, try my best have them done by the weekend.

These are object pieces. The Inspection Station is animated so that every 7 days a different vehicle will appear or be empty.
Do 2 waiting area but at moment these are empty. I intend to place vehicles on these that are waiting to enter the inspection area.

There now 2 Truck Inspection areas. The one shown a few days ago and this one with a weigh bridge in it.

Still playing around with "RoyalExamination9410 " idea of weigh stations.

Adding one more style of a weigh station.

Also looking at adding a section where vehicles can be sent to if they failed the Inspections.
To get a idea on what I doing have a look in Google Earth if you can and find Mount White NSW. Have a look at the North Bound Mount White Inspection Station.
Or just do a search on the internet for "Mount White Inspection Station"

Working on improving the entrances and exits from the "Heavy Vehicle Inspection Stations".

Looked at several in Australia using google earth and all just have the one lane arrival and departure roads. They widen when approaching the inspection station and form 2 or more lanes. So I seeing if I can do something similar.

2 ideas .. whether I do both or just the bottom one. These will replace previous ones.
