[REL] The Great O'Flanagan Plain 1.1

Post by Martoon »

Hello everyone!

Here we go, The Great O'Flanagan Plain. -> Fixed! No more station problems. 8)

This scenario is for those who likes to build big stations with long railroads a big trains ;D
It's fun for beginners who just want to try how to play with big trains but I with think this scenario can make hours of fun for the masters too like Zimmlock or Emperor Darth Sidius and Plastikman.
I played the scenario and I just can't stop playing it. 8)

Start: 1925
Goods: Coal, Iron ore, Lumber, Goods, Paper, Chemicals, Oil, Steel, Grain&Livestock, Passangers&Mail.
Competitors: No. (They are idiots)
It's founded in the 'Challenging' part but it's not too hard to start and make bigbig profits.

I recommend you to use stations with 27 tiles length. (26 tile for trains and 1 for the signals) and 4 tiles wide(or more).
Something like this (( - =Tracks s =Signal \ / =Railroad Crossings ))
--------------------------s\--\
--------------------------s\\- \
--------------------------s//- /
--------------------------s/--/

:!: Mods. ( Sorry, no modfree version )

Ummm... There is more MODs than listed. Is too difficult to have a clean OBJDATA folder to make maps?

looks like he didn't list strongbow's Berlin station. Anything else, I already had installed from my sets if there was more.

@Martoon
you should probably post your track file with maps when you have custom mods and homemade track files. otherwise the stations, signals and bridges do not work how you intended.

as mentioned, the image links are not working.

@everyone else that cant see the images or do not have the mods, the map reminds me of the "western ohio" map.

I'm sorry guys. :(

I have no idea why the pictures don't show up. They're from Imegshack. I will fix them.

And sorry for the 'onlymodded' version but I'm just too lazy to take a fully clean locomotion to do it.
Well yes I'm using a custom TRACKST.dat so I will post it for the ones who have problems with it. Excuse me please.
Martoon

Yes, I'm forgot to deselect strongbow's berlin station. The New Fixed .zip is downloadable!

Yes, I stole the idea of making roads between towns. 8)
But the 'Valley View' map inspired me in making this scenario.

Agreed, but it seems that virtually every map posted ignores the advice in the sticky on mod-freeness, requires on average 437 obscure mods, and realistically deters people like me with very limited playing time from downloading it. #justsaying.

Getting off topic a tad (sorry Martoon).

I agree with you kev, and at the same time there is the other side of the coin. People with little time dont want to spend 4 hours modding a scenario when they only have 3 hours to play. there are both sides of coin..

in my oppinion it is easier to make the maps unmodded then add just what i want for the map.
It can be frustrating to for example need the automod when it is not even used on the map.

Sorry about that.

I agree with you there, it can be nice, and very quick to set up when the scenario designer puts in certain mods and requires you to use them in a certain order, like in Strongbow's Tatra scenario.

But it just seems to me that many just stick any old thing in. For example, what do Mk2 carriages have to do with a US scenario?

Sorry Martoon, maybe this was the wrong place to air this.

Never mind, I agree with you guys. Sorry.

Well, then I will make my scenarios always in clean.

By now, I don't know. I liked to use them with some diesels. But in my next scenarios I will ignore them.

you have to use a mod free loco install, without any in the objdata at all
May the force be with you.
For little boys, three things reign as supreme attention-keepers: tanks, heavy construction equipment, and trains, we all know why where here.

You can't win. some people want it both ways.
maybe you can release a "clean" and a "modded version" of future maps?

it is entirely up to you. it is your creative talent.
