Re: Potential TT-Forums Meets of 2010 (UK and USA/Canada)
I'm planning on visiting the USA next year with a friend. I probably start in New York and work my way up to Chicago.
Re: Potential TT-Forums Meets of 2010 (UK and USA/Canada)
As a matter of fact, I'll potentially be in USA at that time. I plan to study a year "over there" after graduating and, depending on when I fly over, I might be able to attend a late July date in Chicago or New York.
My Scenarios:
Archipiélago Hermoso (Latest Release: Version 3.2)
Turnpike Falls (Latest Release: Version 0.91)

Chicago would be rather handy for me, seeing as I'll be in Minnesota. It'd also be handy in that I could then scout out a suitable location for us to meet and so on beforehand.
But I can be reasonably flexible.

Manchester is under an hours drive for me, so that's my vote!

May the force be with you.

Re: Potential TT-Forums Meets of 2010 (UK and USA/Canada)
It seems Chicago would perhaps be a good location for a meet then. New York is another potential location. Since there does seem to be a reasonable amount of interest in a US meet, I'll likely start a new thread about it with a poll. Are there any other locations that might be good for people?
Re: Potential TT-Forums Meets of 2010 (UK and USA/Canada)
Great idea Owen! Seeing as many people think Chicago is more convenient, and many people are traveling there (near there) I would think thats a great idea.
Re: Potential TT-Forums Meets of 2010 (UK and USA/Canada)
Well.... Chicago is the Rail capital of America, Within reasonable range of a plane, And you can take An Amtrash train there!
But I'm too young!

Something goes here, hell if I know.

Yes true.
So am I!

We don't need to consider the younger ages, since they aren't eligible to attend.JamieLei wrote:Edit: July 3 and 4 are difficult times for the younger ages due to school still running, and would be definately a no if an overnight stay is required

Well, does that mean the younger people aren't even allowed to attend, or just not welcome?

I attended last year and this year when I was 17 and 18, that lovely jonty fellow attended this year at 17, gavin attended last year at 17, david last year at 18, lankuu last year at 16. It would be a great shame if those people couldn't attend.Brianetta wrote:We don't need to consider the younger ages, since they aren't eligible to attend.JamieLei wrote:Edit: July 3 and 4 are difficult times for the younger ages due to school still running, and would be definately a no if an overnight stay is required

People slipping through the net is one thing, trying to adhere to it though so as to ensure people understood we are not responsible for them is another.JamieLei wrote:I attended last year and this year when I was 17 and 18, that lovely jonty fellow attended this year at 17, gavin attended last year at 17, david last year at 18, lankuu last year at 16. I have to say those who were young and attended behaved impeccably and hid their youth well. But its when people mis-behave we get issues.

I would say that there is definitely a no under-16 policy at the meet. For those aged 16/17, it is something that might be considered depending on various factors, but don't get your hopes up too much. It really depends on how responsible and well-behaved you're going to be. Officially, I would prefer it if people attending the meet were 18 or over. (This goes for meets organised by myself at least.)

That's alright, I'll be 18 next year anyway.
