The only think I don't like is the stones graphics. They looks like cartoons stones, and that constrasts a lot with the "photo realistic" grass and trees (I use stolen trees).
I like this very much on the new terra graphics! He makes the game cool one simply. I did not know about the fact that it is possible to produce good one like this the tt from his graphics! It is because my spelling is bad, that translation I write this remark, because I am Hungarian.
Welcome to the ForumsNohabRulez!
Judging from your avatar you must love Ikarus buses.
We 've practically replaced them in our city with new ones some years ago. There are a couple of lines that they may be in use still (company announced in the news that they will replace them there too). I remember when I was young and they were first introduced how eager I was to travel with them.
Of course, real Ikarus I am a friend. I emphasize that they are these buses separately OpenTTD- too they were ready, so that double delight OpenTTD to be playing I was not top notch anyway, that the tt* it is possible to bring good one like this out from his graphics, than on the terra one graphics. Totally the locomotion carries his level, and realistic.
hey, sorry not sure if anything like this is done as im going off the latest picture youve posted, BUT, how about giving the terrain a smoother appearance.. rather then having really well defined slope edges etc. give it that smoothening out look.
if it could be done it'd be awesome. itll make it a tad more realistic - to me anyway.
Kolijn Wolfaardt: This is a remarkable effort.
I'm downloading it now!
I only just now discovered this thread because somebody happened to link to it.
Why don't you add it to the terrain section in GRFCrawler?
Downloaded and installed on TTDPatch.
It almost makes me want to stop for a picnic.

All that's missing are birds in the trees, deer in the fields and trout jumping for flies in the river.

If you are referring to the beaches in my screenshot, they are by lepkka and are the result of about 13 pages of discussion over here. That would be the best place to post your suggestion, however I would recommend reading the full discussion first as the colours were a major issue and what you see is the result of that discussion.
I did not scan every post in this thread ...
I found a bug with new terrain using TTDPatch.
I do not have OTTD so I do not know if it exists there too.
If you build a bridge in the North > South direction with the abutments on slopes, there is a white bar that appears at the South end of the bridge.
If you raise the land to get rid of the slope, the white bar goes away.
If you turn off the new terrain grf, the white bar goes away.
This happens with all the TTDX default bridges of any length.
The attached images demonstrate this.
Note that I tested with only the mandatory ttdpbase grf and newterrain.grf

Looks like a typo in the height of that sprite, it was set to be higher than it actually is. shouldn't be too hard to fix.
I think its on the previous page- i dont know how to link to a specific post-but foobar did a fix for the new terrain- and it was with a similar issue. I haven;t tested- so i dont know if its the same sprites he fixed, but have a look, as i think he did sort it out.
Yes, that would be possible for snow. If and when it get's done depends on if someone is up for the job.
Fixing the shorelines is a bit more complicated, because one would need permission from two authors to combine both terrain sprites and water sprites into an additional shoreline grf.
