Hello and question about playing online

Post by locksley »

Hello,

I have just joined the forum and I am excited to be here, well via the internet anyway! I like many of you I guess have been playing TTD now open TTD for a long time basically since it came out. Well when it came out I was only 11 and I did not at that time appreciate just how good and how complex the game was. From that game I moved on to all of the other tycoon games that Chris Sawyer made and RCT 2 is still one of my favourites. Anyway going back to TTD I have figured out a way of always winning at the main game and I now have the freedom of making realistic and complex transport systems which rely heavily on a complex train network. I now would like to share my saved games with this forum if that is possible and play online against real players or at least join a community map and help to work on it.

I am using an iPad to play so I am not even sure if I can get to my saved game file or what are the limitations of using this device and playing online. When I try to find an online game the app crashes! Playing on a laptop is not really an option as I have too many things going on atm to sit down on my laptop and playing the game the iPad is super easy but hopefully I can share with you what I made and playing online with some of you

The iOS version is not an official client, and the developer is not in contact with any of the OpenTTD devs or active in any known communities. Unfortunately we cannot help with any issues that you're experiencing as we have no idea what isn't working right or have any access to the source code to fix it.

Ah okay I see. That is probably why when I look online for content updates I cannot see anything and why when I try to search for an online game it just crashes. I assume that playing on a windows system would be the most supported?

I guess for now all I can do is share screenshots of what I have made and if I ever meet any of you in person and I happen to have my iPad with me I can show you what I have made!

Windows, MacOS and Linux is officially supported. Android support is unofficial, but also is popular and stable.
