What could you do before that you can not do now?
Assuming this is about buying up AIs using shares, that's been replaced by a more straightforward way to buy an AI company: https://github.com/OpenTTD/OpenTTD/pull/10914Captain Rand wrote: 11 Jul 2023 11:06Not anymore we can't.GarryG wrote: 11 Jul 2023 09:31 Good thing about OpenTTD is we can play it any way we wish ..

Have you seen these two recent threads?
Thanks for the info Pete, first I knew about it as been too busy drawing and codings.
In short: No. A bit longer: Yes, one can exploit the mechanism. But in general it is a simple possibility to add parts with gaps. And apart of that one can add parts with gaps even without the feature but with much more click effort. So this is simply a relief.
Especially the second example about large planes not crashing on small airports is not true no matter how many times you or LaChupacabra repeat it and I am absolutely sure you know that. One can still switch off this "feature". I can't and won't say anything about the shares thingy because I never used this feature and I don't know anything about how broken this feature is in its previous, now removed incarnation.Captain Rand wrote: 12 Jul 2023 11:29 Have you seen these two recent threads?

They are features that have been, or are about to be removed, despite clear objections and pleas from players to leave them in.
To a degree you can play in any style you choose. Those choices, though, are limited by what is programmed into the game.Captain Rand wrote: 12 Jul 2023 11:29 I've said before, in a few posts, that one of OTTD's greatest strengths is the freedom to play in any style you choose. Sadly, this no longer seems to be the case.
