Grounding of "Ship 64" in ballast, near the Gutbridge Pipe Overhead Span. The 40 year old general cargo vessel suffered only minor damages, and was back in trade shortly after the accident. It is rumored that the captain had been drinking - a claim the captain denies. "I had only a few beer for dinner" he stated in a comment to the news papers.

We should probably ask for a court hearing?

PAXLink Pileup at Fundingstone Feeder Station 117
(338 KiB) Downloaded 5 times
Traffic was severely disrupted in Funningstone as PAXLink experiences logistics problems at their bus station "Funningstone Feeder Station 117". Eyewitnesses states that it is ironic of PAXLink to send all their busses to this station as there rarely are anybody waiting there. Nearby "Funningstone" operated by Militia Battle and "Funningstone Docks" operated by Gutbridge Shipping Co generally have long lines and could do with improved service.

Managing Director Mao Al-Bashir of Militia Battle said in a closed statement: "PAXLinks traffic disruption are interfering with our plans of making further links between Funningstone and Fluntburg, one of our most important routes in the region".

A Johnsen of Gutbridge Shipping Co confirms the traffic problems by PAXLink, and adds that similar traffic disruptions also occur in Fluntburg. Johnsen also adds "This have little impact on my business strategy as our primary focus is on ship links, though our express bus between Funningstone and Fluntburg have been delayed several times the last months due to these traffic jams."

PAX-King of PAXLink denies the accusation of traffic disruption stating "We are only trying to enter a market where two strong actors have shown they are not able to supply the services demanded by their costumers. These accusations are meant to monopolize the transport sector in the region and isolate newcomers like myself"

Gutbridge Shipping Co have several times during our conversation stated "PAXLink are not considered competitor as we work within two clearly different traffic segments"

Jessbakken Paper Mill have solved the world food shortage, evidently the solution is cellulose pulp. Director S. Tapmet of Jessbakken Paper Mill hopes this will give them a better competing edge in a difficult market.

(For those wondering, this is probably something to do with incompatible NewGRFs)

Sharp Competition!
(351.77 KiB) Downloaded 5 times
Competition sharpening serving the metropolitan area of Fluntburg and Funningstone.

The oldest participant, Gutbridge Shipping Co (founded 1860) have long competed with Militia Battle (founded 1945), but have the last few years seen increasing activity from AdmiralAI Transport (founded 1953), On Your Way Transport (founded 1969) and OTVI (founded 1967)

Mr A Johnsen of Gutbridge Shipping states in a comment "We have always focused our activity in this region, and have for a long time been the only large-scale transporter, we appreciate much of the activity the newcomer brings, as we have focused mainly within the industrial sector. The growth of the region is not only dependent on our transport of raw materials and produced goods, but also linking our region with other centers of commerce, as some of our competitors seems to focus on"

Mr. I.R. Boss of OTVI states "Gutbridge Shipping's large activity with ships did not put us off the idea of a new ferry link between Fluntburg and Funningstone. It was a solution to some of our transit problems with our city busses between the same city centers, and the high capacity ferry allows for a larger volume of passengers to be transported at competitive prices. Our main focus will still be land transportation"

Mr S.P. Murphy of AdmiralAI Transport says in a statement "This region is interesting in the terms of local growth, and our commuter lines primarily have the goal of personnel transport. We have little cargo activity in this region, mainly because of opportunities elsewhere and the strong presence of other actors"

Mrs S. Phillips of On Your Way said in a statement "We are not so much involved with the transport within this Metropole, but rather widens the transport network into neighboring cities."

Mr Mao Al-Bashir of Militia Battle said "Our bus transport in the region is mainly connecting our airport to the various city centers, allowing the population easy access to our large network of air transportation."

This is the second time I see an AI competitor choose ship transportation to compete with me :)

Funningstone Canal - Funningstone Halt saboteged, new Funningstone Canal
(302.37 KiB) Downloaded 5 times
On Your Way Transport had filled in Funningstone Canal, which connected Funningstone Halt with the main waterways. The bridge built by On Your Way is primarily used by Aro Delivery, connecting Genfingburg with Fluntburg.

Gutbridge Shipping Co had to escavate a new canal to establish a new link between Funningstone Halt and the principal waterways. A Johnsen of Gutbridge Shipping considers legal actions against On Your Way to cover the expenses caused by the extra work.

I am posting it as news entries, please feel free to comment on the news events, and I am open for other people posting as well, maybe the topic of the thread should be changed to something more news-related?

20% of all Power Plants within screenshot! 2048x2048 map

A local governmental incentive from Moenga and Vestby cities have resulted in surge and stiff competition between Power Stations. "We had never thought it would be like this" a spokesperson from Vestby said in a statement. Several of the power companies are now negotiating with the government to find a solution on the problem.

"Most of these power stations are coal fired, and we don't have the infrastructure to transport enough coal to this area. There are few known coal reserves, and most of them are far from this region" a spokesperson for the Environmental Comity of the Regional Council said in a statement.

At the moment there are no solutions to this problem.

I noticed you were using PeCeT's Food Shop and Pharmacy Buildings. As noted in the NewGRF list, those are not loading properly. I fixed these and re-released them with PeCeT's permission as Real Arcade Town Set.

Interesting tactics of building ship depots. Two instances of OTVI and one instance of NiceCAB have built almost on top of each other, almost resulting in closure of the straight.
