Connecting everything to a feeder? Pah. The rail gods are not amused! Cover it all with tracks!

Harvest Time at Ellesmere Fruits in 1862. Road access to the area has been improved and the stations are stacked high with boxed fruits for the breweries at Rugby.

Wow, those black horses are very hard to see against the background of the road surfaces .

Thanks all, yep the Black horses really do disappear in the UK Roads; don't know if to report to eGRVTS or UKRoadSet though

Kelvedon lies to the East of Fenny Stratford, Narborough, et al, it's a small village with big plans, recently money was provided from the local authority to upgrade it's station to 4-tracks to cope with the volume of terminus trains from the city, as well as for a new branch to nearby Dronfield Green. It's February 1870 and the tracks are laid down around the station, which remains open to traffic. Kelvedon also is situated next to a freight line running North-South past the station carrying Timber and Wood Products from the vast forests north of the village.

The branch was well planned and preparations were made years before laying the tracks; by April 1970 the new branch is ready for it's first service. Note that Kelvedon Station was not flattened, but extended with a fantastic Arched canopy.

Meanwhile on The Moon...

Meanwhile on The Moon...

I've taken a break to play a couple of old GRFs, and amongst them i found Pikka's good old Lunar (April Fools???) GRF
I wish this had been expanded upon, as with only four industries; it's a laugh, but shows a lot of promise as a unique set

I love how (unlike Mars) it's REALLY desolate...

PS, don't ask me for the GRF, it's not mine to pass around, I'm simply posting these screenies with fond memories. Also the industry chain isn't closed as well as a million other problems and things that are not even started, let alone complete

For those interested, here's the Lunar page on PikkaWiki. No GRF to download, though. Shame. Graphics look nice. :D

Someone should contact Pikka and ask for them to be able to re-make it.

It'd be nice, but it would be an incredible amount of work to complete it and TBH i'd rather wait to see where TaI and GECKO go.

To complete this project you would need sprites for every aspect of the climate, vehicles and industries as well as the time to code it all. A huge undertaking with a good couple of thousand sprites

That said it does seem a shame that Pikka must have put hours into this then not taken it any further. Maybe one day the community will make something like it as Pikka's creation proves that minimalist and barren climates can work :)

Some of the unique ideas Pikka had for this climate were that Ships (Dust Crawlers) were the fastest and most powerful vehicles; monorails (The only train type) were slow and underpowered and all aircraft were VTOL and operated as "helicopters". The industry chain would be focussed towards producing "off-world" goods to be delivered to launch pads. Truly a very different style of play to normal (O)TTD
