[OpenTTD] pixars screenshots

Post by pixar »

Hello I have been working on a Swedish game for two days now, this is the first time I try to make a network based on a real life network. (where it is possible ofc :p)

i like the MTAB Iore loc., but shouldn't you make the trains a lot longer? why should you waste those 14.00 HP on 7 ore hoppers? i suggest a train of min. 14 tiles to use all those HP

It's a good ideá, I did some reconstructions and made the trains longer.

Rebuilt around the capital station Stockholm C.

Built a port in Nynäshamn.

SJ X2000 to Götebrog C passing a Green Cargo freight train from Nynäshamn, as well as a X40 and a metro train in the screen.

Malmö C with X2000 to Copenhagen and Stockholm, Y2 "Kustpilen" to Malmö C and Y1 to Ystad and Simrishamn, as well as a SAS Boeing 737-500 taking off to Stockholm + Malmö Aviations British Aerospace 146-300 just landing.

Built a few new lines and connected some more cities to the network, it's starting to look good now.

Right now I am rebuilding on a few places where i'm not satisfied and making stations with more details where I just got the original stations still. Going to make the "Kust till Kust-Banan" (coast to coast) Göteborg-Kalmar tonight as well.

Hope someone likes the screens :p

Very nice screens! I like to see my Swedish trains running around. But where did you find a blue/black Dm3? If you've drawn it yourself, may I have a copy to include in the Swedish set?

Thank you, the Swedish trainset is the best. *I just wish there where a few more trains + some more different paint schemes in it! *
It's actually the DM3 from the 2cc set witch i run along with your set to get some extra locomotives to use in Denmark for example!.

The Dm3 is drawn by me, and probably modified by VoyagerOne, for the 2ccSet. I'm surprised I didn't offer my sprites to the Swedish trainset project back when I drew it.

Anyways, the 2ccSet has the GPL license, so you can use it, but it probably requires you to release some stuff under GPL too. Personally I'm fine if you're using another license, but I guess officially you'd need permission from VoyagerOne too. (As he did some extra work on most of the 2ccSet sprites, I expect he touched the Dm3 too.)

EDIT: On a side note, you may want to check the 2ccSet to see if there's more artwork there you can use.

Good to see some Swedish action, although that Stockholm setup makes me cringe :P Stockholm Central is just that. Central. You've put that north of Stockholm, in or around Solna!!

i think there not that useful in gameplay, not for me at least because i play at 1366x768 if you play at larger screens this (might) be handy, but still a matter of preference

Excuse me if these are common knowledge (I'm somewhat out of the loop) but what GRFs are these things from?

Pylons
Wind turbines
Industrial station/dock stuff (pipelines etc)
Train tracks

Very impressed with your docks and most of your stations, although I'm not as keen on the station throats at the big stations ie Stockholm - a little too clinical for my liking and don't look like they've been made organically/realistically

the tracks look most likely are from the YARRS (yet another road and rail set) although their sleepers look darker than those in pixars screenshots
