'Go To' automatically selected

Post by herdmasa »

Hi all,

Been a few years since I've been playing this so I'm still getting myself back up to speed with OpenTTD. There is a feature that I do know I used to have on my Windows computer back in the day. When selecting the 'orders' button, the 'go to' button would automatically be selected, which saved me from clicking the 'go to' button every time when creating new orders.

Also, now that I am using Open TTD on Mac now, is there a way to change the hot keys? Because I am more than beyond frustrated that I have to press two keys on the keyboard to remove all windows on the screen? Function and delete are both in opposite corners of the keyboard.. Which does not make this a very 'hot' key at all. Haha. I would love for it just to be the delete key.

Any help on these would be great. I have searched for the answers for them both, but wasn't able to find anything.

Thanks :)

To answer the first question, the option is in the advanced settings under the interface section, called 'quick creation of vehicle orders'.

For the second issue you can edit hotkeys.cfg, to be found where openttd.cfg is stored as well, generally ~/Documents/OpenTTD
It's a rather undocumented feature, but maybe this helps: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=55664

I don't think you can assign the backspace key, but I'm sure you can find an alternative.
