Problems installing locomotion

Post by kiwiloren »

Hello, I am trying to install Locomotion for my son but it gets about 3/4 of the way through and then comes up with "Component Transfer Error" and the error message " Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Check",
Can anyone tell me what this means and how do I fix it.
Thanks very much.

Cyclic Redundancy Check or CRC is a failed read on a hard drive or CD. in this case it is the CD.

check the surface for fingerprints or other crap stuck to the disk surface.

if that fails,

Hold the CD up to light and see if there are any spots of light showing through. if you see anything, even the size of a pinhole, the disk is trashed.

If you see no holes, my guess is it is just a scratch on the surface. if that is the case, sometimes a different CD drive might be able to read it. or you might be able the buff the scratch out.
