[8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - Locks/Docks-Poll
Who has read the [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project knows that we have two new variants of some nautical sprites for the OTTD 8bpp replacement project. The question is simple: Which one to put into the new graphics package?
In the first picture you see Zephyris' new docks and locks, in the second mine. Someone already mentioned to change the ground of my docks from greenish/darkgrey*) to concrete gray, which could also be an option, but currently I've got no picture of that**). If you do not like any of these choices, you may select "Neither" in the poll.
*) IIRC I've designed them to match the harbor train station sprites from Sanchimaru.

I prefer the simplicity of Zephyris' work (the walls in general look nicer too), yours looks too busy and cluttered for my taste, I also find your locks outter walls look rather peculiar.

I prefer the Red*Stars ones, but the Zephyris ones can be released as a new GRF.
Sorry if my english is too poor, I want learn it, but it isn't too easy.

The locks seem to fit better but IMO are too busy, what with so many lights down the sides.

This is exactly what I was getting at - you made them (the docks, at least) to match a custom GRF, rather than fit in with the style of the original, and hence with OpenGFX.Red*Star wrote: *) IIRC I've designed them to match the harbor train station sprites from Sanchimaru.

I don't like Red*Star's ones because they are too width. And they are not so TTD-ish. Similar thing happens with the oil rig.

While I also like Red*Star's variant I think Zephyris' docks and locks fit better to the OpenTTD style as they aren't that eye-catching and harmonize well with the landscape. That's why I chose the first option.

I like Red*Stars more. It looks more realistic. The southwestern wall of the lock should be improved.

I'm kinda torn. Red*Star's locks are simply awesome, and the docks would also go well with ISR. However, I think that Zephriys' style goes better with the general OpenGFX look, so I went with them, though they do look a bit too plain. I'd certainly like to have the R*S locks&docks as a NewGRF, though.

Red*Star's are indeed nice, but I think they are also too busy (lights). So if this would be the final state, my vote would go to Zeph

Red*Star's locks and zephyris' docks. No option for this though ...

Red*Star lock and Zephyris dock! That option isn't in poll so no vote from me 
Maybe if Zephyris dock would wide as the tile is it looks better with ISR and other station graphics!

Zephiris' docks are better technically (ie better drawn), red*star's are better designwise. I guess a mutation of both would be best.

The poll result seems pretty clear. So If we do this...
I personally have no problem with using Zephyris' variant. I can't deny the point that they look much cleaner and so fit more into the OTTD world

Zephrys's style is definately best, but RedStars detailling is nice. I'd be nice if both could be combined. I voted for Zephrys's ATM, but I think if RedStar adds some detailling to Zephrys's sprites, something nice is going to come out of it

I like a combination of both. Because I busted my Vista install and only had a very old Linux live CD sitting around on wich I was unable to get the internet working, I can't mock something up right now.
Given that the poll results are somewhat inconclusive (about 55/45 %) I hope you can give me one or two days to get something figured out what I like best.
And since I'm coding the final grf set...
No, just kidding. I have an almost complete opengfxw.grf sitting around which I will not release before the [D|L]ocks problem is solved.
