Train speed limited.
Hello to all. I've just registered and found this forum awesome and very helpful. I didn't think there were so many "hooked" players!
For now I have a quick question;
My trains are limited to 80MPH.
I've tried using faster trains, electric trains with 3rd rail and making just one straight track from one city to another (hence only one high speed train), no dice.
Am I doing something wrong? I looked in the manual and it just spoke about all trains going as fast as the slowest train on the track.
Any help will be appreciated, thanx!

Re: Train speed limited.
Maybe the bridge is the problem. Some bridges have a speed limit. For example a stone bridge has a speed limit of 96 km/h.

Re: Train speed limited.
Take my brickbridge mod.
Speed up to 200 mph or 321 km/h.

Thank you for your replies!
I'm talking about flat land!
I thought curves were a limit so I tried a straight track between 2 towns and one train.
Maybe I found a new glitch!
Hey, thanx for the bridge, too.

Re: Train speed limited.
your train is only as fast as your slowest car on the train. so a 300mph engine is wasted if your slowest car on the trains is 15mph.
North American sets and then some...
US SET Ver 3.1.0 updated ~ Amtrak Pack 3.1.0 ~ US Passenger/Metro Set 3.1.0 updated~ Auto Factory 2.6 ~ VIA Rail Pack ~ LTD ED1 Conrail Alcos ~ LTD ED2 NJ Transit ~ DBR E60 ~ TGV Duplex ~ Umbrella Corp. ~ Comboios de Portugal~ Dekosoft UP/BN/BNSF Sets ~ ICE // MegaPack = 1.0.3.

My Trains are made from 100% recycled electrons!

Plastikman is right about that.Plastikman wrote:your train is only as fast as your slowest car on the train. so a 300mph engine is wasted if your slowest car on the trains is 15mph.
Try a solo engine without wagons and look at his speed.

Re: Train speed limited.
Thank you again for your answers! As in my first post, I did read that in the manual. Anyway, I think I figured out a few things;
- If the track isn't long enough, the train will not reach full speed.
- If the trains power is insufficient for it's cargo, it takes a while to get to speed and (I think) to slow down.
- Curves influence the train speed.
This means the games physics is pretty good!
I managed to work it out placing just one powerful locomotive on a long track, it works.
Thank you again for your patience with this newbie, hope to see you in other threads!
