Thx, I've been editing it for a couple of months, for about 1-5 mins a day, I use it to improve my skills on shadows, shading and textures, I hope I can be as good as some other people on here some day.

Thanks

It doesn't look very futuristic though, it's modern, but not futuristic IMO.

I've Pmed you, Dave.

I'm at my nans at the present time, i'm using these hours to draw my building as I really haven't much else to do. I've added a few more details to the construction site.

Thanks

EDIT: I'm probaly taking the crates out, because they don't really fit in that much with the silver and shiny looking cranes and other vechiles.

I've made much progress, but I need someone to approve on the shading of the roof before I continue with the rest of the building.

Hi G_M,
The shading on the roof looks ok. One thing is that it does look smooth. if thats what you want, then thats cool. if you want a roof with soem sort of texture, you need to have a fiddle about with some randomisation there.
With the crate... the angles are all wrong. It looks good, just fundamentally flawed in that case.

Yea... I've taken the "red" crate out and replaced it with a electric box. I think the crane could be redone to make it blend in... the roof is meant to look "smooth" as in the Future most of the building would be pure metalic or someother material. I'll finish the building soon and maybe come back to it when my skills have improved.

Thanks

Graphics_Master

EDIT: I'm gonna change the roof to make some randomaztion which will reflect the "roughness or "impureity" of the metal.

Juts an update on the building. Currently I'm adding objects onto the building and then start texturing the metals and pavement.

It's not very futuristic, but looks fine. I suggest you use more glass for futuristich thingies.

I've always seen future buildings as been rather more glass-less.

But now I think about it, both work.

Thanks for the comment and advice, I'll take it into account. However this mini set is going from Modern Age -> Future.

Thanks

Graphics_Master

EDIT: I tend to prefer doing more futureistic buildings like modern day ones, but with slightly different shapes. The "add-ons" like solar panels is what makes it half between present day and the future.

Purno: I will try and produce a glass like structure.

How about metallic shine? A high-contrast silverish chrome or copper-like browns?

Glass buildings aren't suitable for the future. They waste energy and there are certain regulations to how much glass (%) can be used in a building.

Ye... thats like my point. However, the future is when everything is possible as this is a game, we may or may not use real life aspects. it's all up to you, so who would like to use real life factors?

At this moment its actually a hype to reconstruct older types of buildings mostly the effective buildings (factories as appartments) around the 19-20th century...

Sometimes they build in older buildings new appartments or complexes. Anyway, the looks of old buildings are back in the race again, not very futuristic, but realistic yes, since its the modern day architecture to copy nowadays...

ah anyway just my two cents

I will hopefully contain relestic buildings, but also some unrealistic, maybe more futuristic buildings.

Thanks
