"The one on the website" is not a very precise description, it could be either of:
Download stable (0.7.1)
Download testing (0.7.2-RC2)
Download nightly (r16973)
(or in fact any older versions)

Anyway, what Rubidium is describing is currently under development, so not yet in any of these versions (as of time of my post). Once it's completely implemented (which is soon, judging from Rubidium's post), it'll be in the nightly versions, so I'll suggest using them, if you are not already.

Having tried these new fangled "nightly" things...

Liverpool Station desperately needed a rebuild. The new Intercity platforms were easy enough, although the original three platform station that the whole network started with desperately needed to be redesigned.

Finally with the new platforms all connected and developed with passenger amenities. The next problem was connecting up the new Intercity platforms with the network! Also note the continued use of clapped out trains (steam, with 1920's carriages in one case) and the junction hasn't been remotely developed past it's original beginnings.

I also transferred an electric locomotive across the map to be used on an isolated section of electric track on a local route. The BR152 in question is still perfectly serviceable, but was getting too slow for the local trains back at Liverpool, so it was sent east to live out it's twilight years in peace.

I like how you micromanage your stuff, transporting trains across the maps, electric trains being hauled by a steamers where they can't run by themselves. I love it

Amazing building phases, great documentation, and all of the positive things that we have already said surely mark Raichase's return to screenshot posting. I am sure you have a life beyond this hobby of ours but you really do need to put stuff in here more often.

It might be old compared to newer sets, and it might only start in 1921, but it's still awesome!

So are you using it in TTDP or OTTD?

And, do you now mainly play OTTD or do you still play TTDP?

I only play OTTD now - I used to play TTDP exclusively, but OTTD seems to be easier to use "out of the box", with all the GUI's. I used to have time to keep up with TTDP, but now I just find a stable nightly with nice features and go from there. I'm using the cargo distribution patch too, which is really interesting.

Indeed, and I still follow a certain someone's guide when I use the set ;)

Although I tend to have to stop games around 2010 - a lack of newer engines makes it a bit boring.

Probably the best way to some up that patch - makes it 'interestingly' challenging i find :D

I personally can't keep up with all the different sections of CargoDist, the entire system is "interestingly" complicated.

(Cody Joins the band wagon) I prefer Infrastructure Sharing myself. Cargodist is too complicated for me to wrap my brain around.

I don't know what kind of problems you might have with it.. I just compile it or download one of your binaries, and start my game with the default settings - works nicely out of the box. Sure, there are a whole bunch of options, but why be bothered with them if it just works fine?

I did try cargo dist a while back, but like others it was a little complicated, so i went back to ttdpatch again but i shall attempt to use it again when i have free time, probs this weekend...

O/T: do you think the Rozelle Metro is a good idea or a flop Raichase? (asking you seeing as you take lots of trips on the network)

It is actually fairly easy to get used to, once you play a game with it, but it does require a bit of thought - I've had to reroute trains on my network and plan my metro networks better to move all the passengers. I've had a lot of people coming in to go to destinations served only by local trains, which are full to capacity. Care needs to be taken with long distance trains stopping at stations served by local trains (I place a rule on these when they are "leaving" the metropolitan areas to only pick up passengers, not set down, thus ensuring that the only passengers on the train are those going to places that the train serves, rather than wasting space on the train when they could be put onto a local train). See screenshots below, I'll go into more detail.
O/T: do you think the Rozelle Metro is a good idea or a flop Raichase? (asking you seeing as you take lots of trips on the network)
Considerable waste of money. I've got a far better way to spend the money, but the government wouldn't care...
