Sure, just take the a42 ttdpatchw.exe and rename it a42.exe and take the a43 ttdpatchw.exe and rename it a43.exe and then run whichever one you want to run...

Thank you Prof Frink and krtaylor. Both good suggestions but it looks like patchman has the solution I'm looking for:

Thanks patchman. I'll give it a go. What about mkpttxt.exe :?: Should it be renamed as well or is the most recent one good for previous versions as well :?: I noticed size differences between versions.

mkpttxt doesn't change in every alpha version, but to be safe you should rename it too and run it before running the patch. Or you can just try without and see if the patch complains.

I just remembered that mkpttxt is the new language patch so unless someone with a new language wants to run TDPatch on my PC I won't be affected. I'll just keep installing the latest one until something happens.

Took the the a42 a43 suggestion into the lab for experimentation and the results are in:

Result 1: - Lab rat escaped from cage and cat ate it.
Observation: Cat's Glow-In-The-Dark green hair is kinda neat and she chased the neighbours rottwieler up a tree. :oops: Sorry - wrong experiment :oops:

Result 1 (right one): Worked like a charm
Observation 1: rename the files ttdpatchw42.exe, ttdpatchw43.exe etc. If you use Configurator, it only looks for ttdpatchw.exe so when you want to run configurator, just drop the numbers off of your ttdpatchw##.exe until you are done.
Observation 2: Keep saved games and scenarios in folders respectively named for each alpha version. Running an older version game on a newer version alpha tends to look like the cat above.

Thanks patchman. :D

What a great bunch of fixes in a44! And this one little improvement:

- show number of trains that share orders in "End of shared orders" message

I never thought of that to even ask for it but it will be so very useful.

Now, I didn't see that one when looking through the updates - thats an awesome feature. Now I will know how many passenger trains running on a certain line (e.g Berlin - Hamburg - Frankfurt), and know if I should add more or not!

Champion! Thanks Josef!

How can I switch that one on? I couldn't find anything mentioned in the changelog. Or am I blind?

Anyways. Seams that in my games since A44 the beautiful TownReplacement set from Zimmlock is no longer working. Anybody else having this problem?

[edit] bloody attachement system.... can't load my lovely picture. [/edit]

I hadn't noticed it before, mainly cause I'd started a new game just as a44 came out, but I loaded up my old game now that you mentioned it, and the Town Replacement Set ain't working for me either.

Newhouses (and newindustries) is broken in a44 because of a change Patchman made in the newgrf code. I've already fixed it, so it will surely be fixed in a45. Until then, all you can do is go back to a43.

What happens if I disable the Total Town Replacement Set? Do the new buildings revert to the old ones? I use "mixed mode" so that I have both the new buildings and the old ones.

@Shadow:
Patchman wants to release a new alpha this week, (hopefully with newindustries working) so it will be fixed soon.

@The Person:
Yes, they revert to their substitute type. No information is lost, though: they will go back to the correct graphics again when you re-enable TTRS. New TTRS buildings won't be built while TTRS is unavailable.

It seems to be a bug in newindustries :(

Try turning it off to see if the problem persists.

[edit]: I think I've found a bug in newindustries, but couldn't reproduce this particular one. Could you send me your ttdpatch.cfg and the savegame?

OK, reliable crash with a45:
With verbose on, press any key to show the settings.

I found this trying to reproduce a crash from clicking on the red area of the main toolbar, but haven't been able to do that so far.

Oh, I found the bug that caused the strange industry names. In fact, it's a King Sized Extra Stupid Bug (tm), so I'll release a hotfix version ASAP. :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops:

(I should really stop late night patching... :wink: )

But stopping late-night patching is stopping patching! Isnt that a sin or somthing?

:lol:

Great work Csaboka, regardless of the bugs.
