At the start - sorry for my language mistakes - I'm beginner in English.

I have few questions (because I havnt understood everything what was written at the beggining):

1. If i make a map 64x64 - is it enough to start in contest - or it must be 128x128?

2. The centre of the map will be showed in menu, or I can choose which place will be used (which place I have choosen to be shown in the game menu)?

3. Most important for me - is there possibility to create own scenario and then make infrastructure on this prepared scenerio - will such a map also start in contest?

4. There are no cars/trains/etc limits, exept this includet in-game?

5. Last one - what means that: "Try to keep the number of simultanious sound effects down"?

Thanks for answers, if there will be any ;]

That's ok :)

both are fine. Keep in mind that people sometimes have a big screen, so leave enough room to expand to the right and down (see also answer to the next question).
mickael wrote:2. The centre of the map will be showed in menu, or I can choose which place will be used (which place I have choosen to be shown in the game menu)?
The top-left is fixed. If the screen-size changes, more of the game world is shown at the right and at the bottom.
The top-left displayed is the same point that you were viewing at the moment you saved the game.

Edit: Try it yourself. Open the difficulty window, and select another screen size. Watch how the top-left stays fixed.
mickael wrote:3. Most important for me - is there possibility to create own scenario and then make infrastructure on this prepared scenerio - will such a map also start in contest?
Sure, you can make a save game in any way you like.
mickael wrote:4. There are no cars/trains/etc limits, exept this includet in-game?
No NewGRFs are allowed, thus you can only use original vehicles and industries. For the same reason, the number of opponents must be 0 (you cannot load a AI in the title screen).
mickael wrote:5. Last one - what means that: "Try to keep the number of simultanious sound effects down"?
When a train leaves, it makes noise. When a boat leaves, it makes noise. Since you want to show as many things as possible, lots of vehicles start and stop moving in the title screen.
That gives a lot of background noise, which can get annoying after a while.
Try to prevent that from happening.

Here is one!

You'll have to be quick though, the competition is closing soon.

Still about 10 days before the voting is going to begin. Any ideas what would be a good way of voting?
- Let people grade the intro games?
- Let people make a top 3 of intro games?
Anything similar to this, with developers getting the final say, IMO.

That is somehow given through the commit rights ;-)

Doesn't mean that they have to have the final say. They could just commit whatever a majority of users voted for. ;)

<Lakie> Well, they do the same thing but the code is different.

Roughly 5 days to go for submission.
I propose, based on planetmaker's idea, a week "list the best 3" voting period followed by a week where a choice has to be made from the final three.
The first period will be from 14-02-2010 till 21-02-2010 (23:59 UTC), then from 22-02-2010 till 01-03-2010 (23:59 UTC). That gives both a little bit over a week timewise.

With some changes: decreased the noise to minimum, made a little bit higher rail traffic.

This is the final version.

Yeah, it's Debian with KDE 3.5.10 from stable, other parts (kernel, alsa, etc.) from unstable branch, running on my netbook, so it's optimized for slower performance and low resolution (1024x600).

Well, your screenshot is really nice!
Could be the best, if there would be more streetvehicles ;)

I've just finished subtropical game. I added more streetcars, just hope not so much... they handle cargo goods from the factory to the north along the river (supplied by train on classic railway), and from oil rafinery to the south.
The monorail is one-way and one-train, with path-signals securing crossroads.
Again, 2 screenshots :):

P.S.: Thanks to my roommate, to let me take large screenshot on his machine :)

Reminder to all: CTRL-S makes a nice PNG screenshot of just the game window. Better than using (alt)-prt sc!!

It's true, it makes, but not in menu-title game (at least on Linux and Win7)
