Hi,
I play 0.5.5 because its last stable compatibility. In 0.6.2, does the fishing harbour still not have a ship dock?

No. It would only be possible in a bad way that I don't want to implement. I prefer to wait for newports code in openttd.

Meanwhile there is a dock grf by PaulC that uses FIRS sprites and fits exactly with fishing harbour ;)

FIRS 0.6.3 released. Get it in fetching banana-yellow, or here: http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/firs/releases/0.6.3/

Changelog below.

*0.6.3* Changes the following:
- Updated translations for Czech, Serbian, Spanish (Nargon, etran, Terkhen)
- Use a better 'mud' ground tile for multiple industries
- Lime Kiln uses 'mud' ground tile instead of concrete (looks better)
- Graphical improvements to Clay Pit and Quarry so they fit better with stations
- Slightly reduce Junk Yard initial production for gameplay balance
- Fix Fishing Grounds closing + production (will never change production, never close; does not use FIRS parameters)
- Fix unintended change to base costs for 'stuff with town' and 'fund town' (reset to game defaults)
- Builders Yard can build on steep slopes
- Fix disasters for Dairy Farm (removed unintended explosion disaster)
- Fix disasters for Biorefinery (use airplane disaster instead of helicopter)
- Internal improvements (suppress some non-useful build errors)
- Internal work to restore Recycling Plant (but not available in game for 0.6.3)

Is recycling a recycling plant sort of, recycling to the second power?

As for the dairy farm explosions, I found them hilarious. I pictured a random methane explosion due to all the cows. Better to remove them for realism though I suppose.

I hope that with the reintroduction of the Recycling plant that waste will also be reintroduced. Waste is a cargo that real life railroads move. It would be nice if waste could be sent to a recycling plant to be recycled into scrap metal and paper and maybe players could send waste to a Junk yard to produce scrap metal and maybe supplies? (Since sometimes people toss things that only need a little work and polish to get working again)

Also, I was just thinking, what about a Junk yard variation with a bunch of junked vehicles or scrapped Locomotives and railstock

Really interesting GRF. It adds so much to the original game.

I don't know if this is a bug in FIRS, OpenTTD, or a bug at all. I am getting negative profit when delivering Engineering Supplies at one industry. Other industries with similar layout I get a positive profit. I tried replacing the truck stops, the vehicle, and even the depot; No change.

I am using OpenTTD 1.1.0-RC1 with FIRS v0.6.4 download via the game interface.

I had a look at your savegame,

My guess would be that your truck is delivering at cost, cause you made too much profit on the train deliveryng those supplies.

Try changing the percentage of profit in multimodal services (advanced settings then economy) could maybe balance your profit between vehicules delivering same cargo packet.

Also if your transfert station was not located almost farther than the ultimate delivery spot (in comparison to the suply location)... revenue would be for sure positive with no change in settings. And if i m wrong about this... then it s maybe cause the trip take too much time (i don t know if waiting time at a transfer station is counted as part of the trip)

Moving the drop-off station closer seemed to work. I'll see in a couple of years...

EDIT: Nope. Didn't take long for them to turn negative again. Changing the transfer share worked better. Thanks romazoon.

Any FIRS players fancy adding to the FIRS wiki with additional methods for delivering supplies?

Currently Simon has added the '1 tile truck-route' method, which is one valid tactic. I figure there are others...would be interesting to see different approaches. Maybe split to different wiki pages for different tactics?

What about flying supplies in? Though the payment for supplies might need to be raised to make that profitable

I do it for long distances. I use small planes from GeneralAv8ion. They lose money :roll:

Among early Av8ion aircraft, I've found that if I use planes such as the Fokker trimotor or Rapide (they can carry 20 units each, but the Fokker is getting "nerfed" to 10 units in the upcoming Av8ion release) to fly in supplies either directly to the destination or to a transfer hub, they can make a meager profit even on medium-distance routes. But once I tried more expensive craft like Electras, the routes had to be longer for them to generate a profit.

I was going to add some screen shots of small hoover crafts and oil rigs. However, those are FISH, would that be a problem? I currently cannot continue updating the wiki as I have issues logging in to upload screenshots.

It helps if the planes dont have to wait at the airport for supplies, so keep your plants and factories stocked with supplies to make supplies :p
