when i download using my browser it works as intended but when i use my download manager from this forum it always save the files as file.php
anything i could do about it?

it might be you cookie settings in your DM

Not really, I'm afraid. phpBB does return the filename in the HTTP headers, but it's in a slightly hacky fashion, and some download managers may well ignore it. Not really a lot you can do about it, sorry!
