Looking very nice, look forward to seeing it in Lufthansa yellow. I've been trying to read up on the ET-403 but have been limited to pictures mainly as my German doesn't stretch to railway terms!

Edit: Just realised the Lufthansa yellow version is on your site.

Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
3 new pics.
Leverkusen is an important junction on the line to Leipzig. From here trains can reach Dusseldorf, Wuppertal, Oberhausen/Koblenz/Kassel (the main station is known to me as OKK HBf - bear that in mind for the future
) or Leipzig. It can get quite busy at times.
Aachen had another 2 platforms added due to an increase in freight to/from the Bremen area. The lines were electrified for the introduction of BR110s on intercity services to OKK HBf and Wuppertal. A side effect of this is that ET-30s will be introduced on stopping services.
Since I haven't shown it yet, a giant screenshot of the massively complicated OKK area. There's a lot of track!

In that big pic, which set includes those train tunnel entrances, and which set has that awesome big station?

Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
If its the one i think you mean- its one of my stations.
Im working on a British Station Set, but its not released yet. Not far off, but its finding the time to do all the little boring bits
I gave a few people a test set just to see how it was to play with. I just need to do some little bits like coding snow and people, but im not that good at coding and its been giving me a headache! Don't worry. Ill release it all to the public when im done.
its nice to see how ameechers been using them though! (ben and dave- feel free to post any of your shots too, as i havent been finishing this as fast as i thought id be able to)

Chrill: The tunnels are from Ben_K's tunnels set.
The station, as already mentioned a few times is unreleased.

Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
I bow to your skills good sir. What an amazing giant screenshot. The lightrail/metro connection between the cities is a very nice touch as well.
The best part is the giant station right between the cities with miles of railway around it, including a fair amount of yards and shops.
An impressive feat of creativity and engineering in all.

Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
Damn straight, I love that giant shot, especially the light rail loop around the main station and Ratisbon etc. Also as mentioned those rail yards are brilliant, and the track layout all in all is quality. Tell me then, how many times has that all been ripped up and redesigned?
Because that's the way my networks tend to evolve at complicated junctions and sections like that. What year is the game currently in?
EDIT: Bleh! What in the devil is that tunnel doing under your river? Is that anything to do with this enhanced tunnels business that lets you TTDP folk build over tunnel mouths too?
EDIT II: What kind of routes do the ickle trains (S-Bahn?) take around that area. I can see the ones from Osnabruck don't go through the Hauptbahnhof, but what about the rest?

Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
Very nice pictures!
But is anyone else thinking the scale of some of the platforms is off? In this example, the platform is almost up to the train windows? (There also seems to be an alignment problem between the end of the platform and the rest of it)

Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
I'm really enjoying your thread Ameercher. My favourite was defintily the East Anglian ones near the start. Reminds me of when Super Sprinters and Express Sprinters first appeared on the Wherry lines!
Keep the shots coming from all the games you play...always inspires me to hae a go...though i'm not as good!
Might give the East Anglian one a go myself but keep the closed lines open!

Remarkably, I've never had to redesign any of the junctions near the main station. Others have needed it but those seem to work just fine!Tell me then, how many times has that all been ripped up and redesigned?Because that's the way my networks tend to evolve at complicated junctions and sections like that.

The river isn't at sea-level. Using the TTDP rivers I have made the river about 4 higher than sea level thus allowing me to tunnel under the river (look on the large screenshot to the left and you'll see the locks and rapids showing another rise in the river level).
EDIT II: What kind of routes do the ickle trains (S-Bahn?) take around that area. I can see the ones from Osnabruck don't go through the Hauptbahnhof, but what about the rest?[/quote]
Generally the S-Bahn trains run from Dusseldorf to Bremen, then Aachen and then either way round the loop at Koblenz and return to Dusseldorf. OR they go round the north side of the loop and straight to Kassel and Osnabruck. Another set of trains run from Osnabruck round the loop at Koblenz. Then reverse in the sidings and return to Kassel. There's about 12 trains on the network and they don't all have the same orders!
Thanks everyone else for the kind comments too

Edit:
Yes there does seem to be an alignment problem.AndersI wrote:But is anyone else thinking the scale of some of the platforms is off? In this example, the platform is almost up to the train windows? (There also seems to be an alignment problem between the end of the platform and the rest of it)
Re: The height, in mph's defence, british platforms are very high and as this is meant to be a british stations set I would expect that is the reason. When I say very high, they are a good 80cm high so that there is almost step free access to trains.
Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
In that giant screenie, it looks like the trains stop in the middle of the platform actually, not at the very first tile. Is that a new feature which can be included now on stations? So far, I thought that this was not possible.

Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
It's just the way I've built the station. The station is built of two different stations. The platform ends are seperate platforms so that trains don't go right to the end. Looks more realistic that wayThe Irish wrote:In that giant screenie, it looks like the trains stop in the middle of the platform actually, not at the very first tile. Heh, you crafty bugger. Bet that catches on quick!

Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
To right that will catch on...what a great idea!
Only problem will be those passengers waiting at the end of the platform with no train ever to pick them up!

Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
No because you don't order the trains to go there.Gord wrote:Only problem will be those passengers waiting at the end of the platform with no train ever to pick them up!
The way the station is laid out is:
ABBBBBBBBBBBBBC
where A, B & C are stations but all the trains are ordered to go to B so A and C never receive any passengers. in reality nobody waits out on the outside bits anyway!

Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
Well, AFAIR, platform height in U.K isn´t that much different to other European countries. Highest in U.K should be Heathrow Express (110cm), but most others are lower.Ameecher wrote: [...] british platforms are very high and as this is meant to be a british stations set I would expect that is the reason. When I say very high, they are a good 80cm high so that there is almost step free access to trains.
Nevertheless, there exists an agreement on technical specifications for interoperability (TSI) on behalf of the European Union Commission, providing four standard platform heights: 55cm, 76cm, 91.5cm (UK), and 84cm (NL).
E.g., heights in Germany are between 38 (trams) and 96cm (S-Bahn).
OTOH, even for a platform height of 91cm, this one should only need 1.4px in height.

Michael

4 new shots.
Nurnberg just after remodelling began. Nurnberg when remodelling was complete Friedrichshafen after the remodelling of the northern approach to OKK including quadrupling. (I've just realised that I spelt the name wrong in game
