Hey! i've just started a new set (in terms of graphics) It's the Commuter Set for TTD (and OTTD )

my first (somewhat rough) list includes:

Stations are now in their own thread

I will take suggestions (commuter only plz, but i will do other stuff )
More to come, later for a finished tracking table (it's almost done )

Both!

Trains and stations will be included, but they will be in separate .grf's (Hopefully)

I don't know if you've ever been to the UK but, Virgin is definitely not a commuter operator in the way you seem to want.

Also, South West trains use a lot of different trains, do you plan to draw them all?

There's already some decent Chicago Metra trains in the US Set. I live in the Chicago area, and can help with equipment pics or station pics if need be. The station in my parents' town, Lake Bluff, is quite nice, as it Lake Forest, the town just south of that.

I have made the first commuter cars of the set
These are the Florida Tri-Rail cars
coming soon: Tri-Rail Locomotives and Cabcars

the top car is old paint, below it is when they came from GO transit, and the blue is the new cloud scheme
the train gifs are from here
i used them as a "model"

Metra is mostly done now
Thrakki let me use his metra and rta units from the us set.
i have compiled all of the ones from the us set web site, but i don't have the others
I can't get GRFcodec to work properly
the bottom row of cab cars have pantos (metra has electrification)

I'm guessing that you end up with weird looking DOS-graphics. Try this:

the MS-DOS prompt window just flashes up when i open GRF Codec

Did you read any of the tutorials about using grfcodec?

You have to open up a command window, open "run..." in the start menu and type in "cmd"

Then point it to your TTD directory and do what FooBar said. Or read a guide on it.

Looking at your poll, there's two things I want to say;

- European metro tracks already have been drawn and almost fully coded, FYI.
- In case you choose for the London Underground, a metro MU from 1938 has already been drawn in 2cc.

Majority tells me that i need to get the LU stock done
Oh Bother, Next stop, High St. Kenningston (District Line, Don'tcha Know)
(the previous contains a hint of the next train to come out of the lancaster, KY Commuter shops )

Here it is the first batch of Metro Stock
so far all i have is LU stock.
NOTE: Tube Stock (Battery Loco) is a pixel lower than Sub-surface (D78) stock

The 2cc version looks like livestock vans - which they may be when you're inside, but I don't believe they look like them from the outside.

To me 2cc look suitable for carrying prisoners.

The whole set needs more work, but first draw the other views and then proceed to texturing/shading.
