Edit~ OH, duh... I read that wrong. I thought You said it was 23 NOT 22.. yes they carry 2 cargos. this mod Used to have 2 types of scrap. scrap metal from the factories and scrap autos from the auto dealers. I left all the code in place to drop a second type of scrap in place for upgrades later. I can add the junk cars, plastic recycling, city trash? what ever we decide later with only a new dat and one or two minor edits to buildings.....
2.5 is ready, I am just a little to busy to package it up.

Ok, now that 2.5 is done and released (look on AMI for it), and looks to be finnished other then language support. What do we make next? I know there was a want for a copper mine a while back.
there was talk of a gold mine and a bank. i have the bank building and Valubles code all done somewhere I think It already lets you take valubles from town to town like ttdx. someone else was supposed to make the mine.
I was also requested to make an intermodal yard. I can't quite figgure out how it can be an industry, it is more of a "station". but i started on it.

i have been screwing around all week with new graphics. this looks like it might be the start of something.
then again it might not.....
A i am having a few issues the the intermodal crane. I tried to have it animated at first riding along the track at 2mph and it clipped bad as trains went under it. but hey, I had to try right? anyways i might have to make it a little smaller, i wanted it to cross 1 track and 1 road... also if i turn 180 degrees, they cross over to the next track (fixable with work.)
I cant see any actual in game use for it ther then looks. I could have it just "make goods".. personally i dont like that.
other options could be make a new item like "manufactured goods" or Wholesale Goods"that i could take from factories to here then they become "consumer goods" that go to town, or i can just make it a doppler... who knows??...

Opps.. time for an emergency patch for 2.5 somehow the version i am playing and the version i released were not the same....

This new version Seems very stable I have been playing it for 8 hours now and decided to update it. Just intall and play. If You are Upgrading from 2.5, unstarted scenarios are ok. If you are playing 2.5 savegames, You have nothing to worry about, Just keep playing, it is self healing. The factories will work as planed once they recive a load of plastic and a load of steel in the same month You will get scrap.

So yeah I thought this version was a lot harder.. WOW i was wrong it is friggin #$@$@!@# uber hard. I am going to win though. I am at 25% to goal and 23 years left. I am nursing towns for scrap to get more steel. It is almost more efficient to do that then tap into the few coal/ore mines i have not touched yet.
the secret is definatly scrap. that was suposed to be a bonus industry.. not anymore, it is requierd.. If people want i can release an "easy" version of this mod. it would be the same but the Auto Plant would only need Auto parts, no steel... it would make the mod so easy, i would almost be a joke.
has anyone actually tried the 2.5 map? any comments?

This is about the secenrio and not the mod.. or is it?
I was almost positive that 50k Autos was impossible in my test scenario. I decided to see if it could be done... Well.. I started with feeding the towns and making passenger trains, bad idea, i wasted 10 years that i should have been making Autos.
I started the auto proccess and realized I was short on steel. I was looking for scrap souces and noticed a problem! I started with automod 2.5 realized my release was bugged. I Upgraded to 2.6 mid game. I then realized that Maybe 50k is possible, I just could not get all the goods into the stations in the same months... MY rail network was buggy. trains getting lost and causing huge traffic jams. but whatever, ill keep on trying. in the end i had a lot of bugs ironed out and was finally tunrnig out autos off the assembly line. it is a race!
My main station stopped accepting autos and it took me a few years to notice... OOPS.. soooo... i blasted deeper into town and leveled 1/2 of the town and the autodealers popped up like a virus (see pic).
This is one hard scenerio and definatly beatable under perfect conditions. I think ill lower the goal to 30k in the next update? As you can see i was close and i had more then enough plastic and steel delivered, just the timing was off that the parts and autos were not being made (getting both steel and plastic/parts delivered in the same month)....

not yet, it will be a while unless you just want useless as scenery or as an industry. that the trains cant drive under. i have a bit of work to do still. it is fine in one direction but when you turn the game screen, it either is missing a bit of crane, or if i reduce it, it clips and you can see bits of it as a train drives under it. I can make it a station easy enough, but then it only has 2 views and it has to be smaller, then that defeats the point of the crane. I rather take my time and do it right.
with the shortage of selectable industries in the game, I was trying to avoid that. besides , it is no fun if you cant drive under it!
I can fix it, just not the way i wanted. i had a few cool ideas and keep runnign in to game engine limits. i had it as a "signal" on the next track over way off center.. It should still work as a signal on the same track (you just have to put it before and after your station as the signals in and out), it will work as a bridge (but a pain in the arse to build.). it will work as a station but way to small to look good.
it will work as is now if you want to only play your game at only one angle.. LoL j/k

It takes a lot of work to set up an efficient network. I used only one auto parts factory & one auto plant in order to concentrate resources. The key as far as I found was steel production and the answer was definitely scrap metal. Once the my network was fully setup, I think I was getting as much steel from the scrap yards as the steel mills.
Anyway, my vote is to leave the goals at 50K. However, the category could be upgraded to challenging.
