First, a few clarifications; in the previous pic only the
rear platform half shows any passengers, the front half is yet to come. Also, there is not a lot of room to place them, as they must not obstruct roof pillars, light posts, stairs etc. On snowy platforms, there is even less room, we cannot have them stand in deep snow; although there will probably be less passengers in each stage. Currently we have on the rear platform half the following numbers :
stage 1 - 0
stage 2 - 2, 3 or 4 (at random)
stage 3 - 5, 6 or 7
stage 4 - 8, 9 or 10
and these only apply to the rear half of normal plain platforms, roofed, lighted and the low level platforms as well as crosswalks.
Platforms with benches and subway buildings are yet to come.
The front platform halves will get the animated passenger displays, and are yet to come.
As for statistics, passenger display use 2,816 sprites and show about 10,000+ passengers.

There are either 8 or 4 randomised passenger displays for each unique station tile, but some tiles share the sprites.
The pic below, was the first attempt, showing all 4 'cargo' stages. This has been ditched, because some stand too close to the track edge, others would be in the way of potential light post, stairs and roof pillars. Remember only rear platform halves were done.
