 OMG you must use some kind of tool to create this...

It would take decades to create this from scratch or even modify it everytime you make a town larger...

Very very impressive!

Just Great :D You must have spend so much effort on it.

I have replied to your email with some ideas how to organize/coordinate things. Just let me know what you think about it :)

I am also willing to help you out with this one, I already sent you an email.

One things I did notice going through your screenshots is the bridges. I don't know if OTTD supports this (I play more TTDP), but what happened to custom bridgeheads. That one you can have bridges linking up directly with roads, so you can have straight sidings along your canals. Just a little beautytip.

This looks so beautiful!!! :D

Sadly though, I don't see that I can help that much with this project, as making scenarios isn't my strongest side.

But I'm looking forward to playing on it! :P

A long time ago, there was a custom bridgeheads patch by peter1138: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?t=20211
This is something I really miss in OpenTTD, as I use this feature a lot in TTDP.

Thanks all, we're currently working on a wiki page.

I also made map a of the scenario with photoshop, showing information about the major cities and global envirement and also giving an idea on how far the map is progressed and what amount of work still needs to be done:

Only dug up the topic to see if it's been completed yet, it's amazing!

And by the way, it would be better if the pics were attached with the forums attachment feature, so the tables aren't stretched. It also doesn't help when the pics are gif not png and are therefore massive in size, especially for dial-up users.

A lot of things (preparation) has been done behind the scenes and the teamwork on the map will start very soon. We have already started a Project Page on the wiki. But don't expect a final version very soon. It's still a lot of work to do and we all have real-lifes and other projects ;) So the answer is: when it's done :P

Just have a look at the wiki page from time to time to see how things evolve.

You're right about the table stretching. I'll give Whopper a friendly pointer to change it :)

i think that a map like this should be played with a sort of static map, where cities don't grow or they have a veeery limited growt
terraform should cost very much
demolishing houses should cost more too
and industries founding and (dis)appearing should be to avoid

what i mean is like a spinoff challenge, but i hope that one day this will be possible to do without making a new fork of ottd, and set "dynamic" and "static" in the scenario editor

I guess great minds think alike.

I have volunteered for this project, but apart from an email from Whopper I haven't heard anything else. I just looked at the wiki and edited some parts of the history (just some grammar corrections, nothing big) and I was wondering when we are going to start on the map itself. I'm really looking forward to finishing such a great map.

I like the history, some of it needs to be clarified though, on the other hand the scenery and maps are stunning.

Sign me up for any minor parts of the map - My attention span is to small for anything on a large scale.
