Steam engines are now mixed into the North American packs on AMI (click).

THIS IS ALL OBSLOLETE....

Hey need some people to try these steamers.

Try them one at a time.Then let me know what ones work or dont work. I am having wierd results from them.

so please let me know if they worked or not and what version of lomo you are using.

Edit:
I noticed that if I use the "no smoke versions" to build my scenerio, save it. exit lomo, put the "with smoke versions" in (face it, the smoke ones are MUCH nicer). then load up lomo and play the scenerio, it is fine.

The differance between the 2 is the animation, the smoke ones chug all the time, have wheelslip, steam while idle, and whistle at crossings. the non-smoke ones uhh.. puff once at start up and thats it.. none of what i mentioned above.

Okay.

I've tested all three of these trains. I found no problems at all. They run fine and look perfectly normal as far as i can tell.

What problems have you had with them?

Check your pm inbox, although I'm not sure what version of Lomo I'm using.

they are only working 1/2 the time for my beta testers. they are fine for me 100% dead on. everyone else is having issues. there are some non-standerd lines of code inthe xml for the full head of steam and sounds.

it has 3 lines of sound in it and some of the errors are "can not find sound [2]"

I am wondering if i coded the things to only work with a patch version of lomo?

What version of lomo are you using? UK patched 1.76? etc...

works fine for me .... got the game from a german magazine wich is ( so gyus in a german forum told me ) allready patched after the install ....

I am starting to think they only work on patched versions of lomo. i have UK and US vesions here, both patched. works flawlessly on 3 computers. you can find your version in game by selecting "about locomotion".

the steam effect is coded is a bit wierd in my engines. maybe that was only a patch command.

as i said it is not 100% if you have the old version (or so it looks like). i would hate to have to release 2 versions of the train.. unpatched and patched.

i am installing the old version on another pc right now ill look at the coding on the older steamers and some beta testing

btw i appreciate everyone feedback. it helps making the mods for everyone. if anyone else can give them a shot and let me know.

also i forgot, the new engines do overwrite the old ones from us pack 1.1-1.2 sorry about that. if you guys want i can repost those 2 so you can reinstall them if they dont work for you.

Edit: i am heading into the steam ago of Lomo so i want to get the bugs worked out now so we can all enjoy new steamers. I also have a BR set one 100% ready to go as soon as this is worked out.

ok back and double posting......

ok so i tried US and UK versions unpatched. they worked everytime. so i am totaly confused now. i even used my lowest end machine, a p3-1gig with 512 ram and a 16 or 32 meg video card(some old pos). i checked the code on the unpatched steamers, they match the new ones. the hudson is the same code as the default pacific with new sprites,changed years, hp and reliability. that's it.

direct x version? i doubt that. but i did get an error on install that my direct x wont work with lomo and rcomended that i upgrade. but i did not upgrade direct x (no dir-X video driver for that pc). the rest of my PCs are current direct x.

lol well that answers the question... i was just about to send you a unit with no smoke to see if that is the issue...

thanks for the update.

for those that are crashing. can you try this version? i took away the smoke. the smoke it does have may be off alignment. just ignore that for now, it is a fast beta to see where the unit is breaking

I may have to crawl around in the basement now looking for my locomotion cd. The steam trains look real good.

Games like locomotion would die if not for work by talented modders. Pat your self on the back.............great job.
Now to grab my flash light and go searching.
