modding bridges

Post by GJ »

I have the NL pack (available from http://www.buzzing-bumblebee.fiberworld.nl/) and my question is quite simple. This pack includes a new concrete bridge which is available only for the Maglev trains. I want to make this particular bridge available for normal trains too. Anyone? :)

Why? It's for private use only. I guess it's just about changing a little piece of code somewhere? Help is still appreciated! :)

For the NL pack you're wrong, above every file there are the names
Ruud Ophelders and Jeroen van Kessel
They are Oppie and Scrat, the designers.
And yes my name and the name of Shifty Powers aren't mentioned.
We did a large part of research and advised for the proper stats.
I don't care, at least the mods are still available what's the most important thing.

It's not very nice to spread false accusations...

There comes a ReadMe with this pack (Liesmich.txt) mentioning all the authors. As there are many different authors, there is only the remark "User aus TT-Forums.net (Siehe LiesMich) " in the author description which means "User from tt-forums, see liesmich.txt for details".

I don't think it's of any use to change the maglev bridge.
The bridge doesn't contain normal track with sleepers.
The bridge itself is a track type on concrete pilers.

You might be right about that one, indeed. Anyone know where I can find a decent bridge with a similar look?

If you want to use that bridge, you need to edit the file of the road or track that you want to use it with. (trackst, trackng, roadtram, etc) (You also need to have that particular bridge file in your objdata folder, and enabled in a scenario. But you know that already.)

When you edit the .XML of the track or road, you either need to add or replace of the "useobject"* statements. I would recommend replacing the wooden bridge.

*Or is it "use bridgetype" ?
