Actually the ttdpatchw.exe on the source code site is currently a preview of alpha 8, with two of the above bugs fixed. (Finding out which two is left as an exercise to the reader )

So back to version 6

What's your setting for the "mountains" switch?
Version 8 already fixes that problem :D
Patchman wrote:The new station graphics (from e.g. http://www.patagonia.de.vu/ttd/) are going to start working soon. Right now, I've added the "newstations" switch (-YI), but at this point it only allows choosing new station layouts in the construction screen. When you build them, they will not look different. Wait for alpha 7 .
So how can I make this work??

Almost, but it isn't in seconds, but in another units. A setting of 10 means roughly a TTD day.

SHADOW-XIII wrote:Josef, make drop down list (that new one in vehicle lists) 1-2 pixels higher (so that there will be no space between list and window with list)
Without this patch, dropdown lists were only used in the options box, so they're a bit limited (they weren't designed to be flexible). One of their limitations is that they don't have settable position and size, all of this is calculated from the position of the caller button and the GUI element before it. So it's not my fault, but Chris Sawyer's laziness

I'll look at the dropdown menu code, though, and see what I can do...

It only works in the station selection screen so far, you can't actually build them. If you want to make new stations, read the newgrf.txt file which explains the current format.

This new feature is incredibly usefull
new switch: "buildwhilepaused on" or -XB allows (all?) construction while paused
Now I can add a dock to a trainstation without interupting and causing massive delays

Another thing I've noticed: suppose a ship is heading to a dock, and you remove it while being paused and move it a bit further. When you unpause the ship is still going to the original place of the dock, when you've filled up the land , then it circles around
Only way out is clicking skip on its orders, unti it is on the right order

But I've you missed a ship, you may only find out when it goes negative

Personally, I don't like that new buildwhenpaused setting, it gets too much like cheating for me. I want to save some old stuff from original TTD, so with me it would ruin the feeling of "no-cheating" game.

Well, everyone has their own opinion...

I only use it where I would usually press F1-Click-F1 - eg. cheap raising land from water by usage of ship depots. Means I can take my time as there's no chance of flooding while i'm filling in the ocean...

Owen's TTDXedit should be compatible with any version of the patch, past and future.

Oskar did refer me to some material (well, his IDB database, IIRC), but I never got around to looking into it properly.
