Excellent screenshots! Well done to all who entered!!
And I agree with SniperDJ and Katve on the anonymous voting.

Re: TT-Screenshot Of The Month - March Voting
So let's hold a vote about voting then? Or do we need to vote on whether to do that first?

I really doubt anonymity is needed for screenshot voting.

Perhaps we should vote on your question as to whether we should vote on the question about voting.oberhümer wrote:So let's hold a vote about voting then? Or do we need to vote on whether to do that first?

Re: TT-Screenshot Of The Month - March Entries
IMO an unnecessary hassle. I trust people in this community to vote for the best screenshot, no matter who made it. That people suggest such a thing gives me the impression they don't trust the community. Since there's nothing to win in this competition, why would one bother to vote for someone else screenshot? If you want to vote on a friend, nothing prevents that friend from telling someone "screenshot number # is mine". It gives you an extra job on keeping administration to link numbers to people, it prevents us from thinking "hey, that dude made another good screenshot this month", or "hey, that dude is using my GRFs, cool", and likely floods the topic with questions like "who made screenshot number #?". If people want to cheat by voting on a friend's bad screenshot, so be it. Sad for them, doesn't bother me.SwissFan91 wrote:- Someone has suggested perhaps just numbering the entries and referring to said number in the poll to make this anonymous. What is the consensus on this?
But we could always have a poll on anonymous polls.

Re: TT-Screenshot Of The Month - March Voting
Well, the fact that some people have raised the issue surely insinuates that a poll would be useful as it won't come out 100% / 0%?kamnet wrote:No poll, no need for anonymous.
Re: TT-Screenshot Of The Month - March Voting
Mh, I really can't see why anyone would suggest this. Looking for example at the current poll, does anyone find the results surprising? Suspicious?
I honestly can't see any different result with anonymous screens ...
...and the same goes for polls in the past. Can't say I always chose the winning screen, but it was pretty obvious at all times why others would. IMO this would just needlessly make things more serious when it's supposed to be just for fun, isn't it?

Perhaps, yes. I'm not saying I support either method but the fact that it has been mentioned surely means someone feels it is an issue.
It is indeed meant to be a bit of light-hearted fun. I think during the phase of April entries I will run a poll on it just for clarity. It will probably be an overwhelming vote against anonimity but there's no harm in checking. Perhaps those who want anoninity don't want to say anything now everyone has rubbished the idea.

Re: TT-Screenshot Of The Month - March Voting
We have anonymous poll. No one here knows, for which screen I have vote....

Re: TT-Screenshot Of The Month - March Voting
Perhaps the one who suggested this anonymousity can come forward, and explain why he thinks it's necessary?SwissFan91 wrote:Perhaps, yes. I'm not saying I support either method but the fact that it has been mentioned surely means someone feels it is an issue.
And that's not changing. But you made me think. Everyone could make a few extra accounts to vote for his own screenshots. I mean, if we're trying to find ways to cheat the competition, anonymous screenshots really isn't the biggest issue.Sallarsahr wrote:We have anonymous poll. Re: TT-Screenshot Of The Month - March Voting
I suggested it for these reasons:
- it could force people look deeper at the shots, while not getting biased by the names (not saying that this is not happening now)
- it makes for a nice guessing game concerning who made which shot
Anyway, it was just a general suggestion for more fun, not a criticism, and not in any way founded by suspicion or lack of trust.
cheers

Re: TT-Screenshot Of The Month - March Voting
We'll run a poll and find out, let's not make this into a real issue when really, as zooks says, it was only a suggestion.
Let's not let this detract from the very high quality of screenshots we've had this month! Keep voting everyone.

Are you suggesting that we are allowed to vote more than once?SwissFan91 wrote:Keep voting everyone.
