quick question. maybe a little feedback.

The scrap yard needs "scrap metal" to make steel.

i was also going to add used cars from the auto dealers to the scrap yard to get steel.

in beta i found out i am getting way to much steel from the scrap yard.

so now the scarp yard will need 1 ton of scrap+used cars or 1 ton of scrap+1 ton of scrap to get one ton of steel.

i am not sure what route to take. i can keep having the auto dealers make "scrap metal" OR the original plan of "used/junk cars".

before you answer. understand that, if i put the used cars in the mod, it will be really hard to use the scrap yard. you need an equal number of "scrap metal" that the auto plant is spitting out tons of the junk (literally) and an equal number of used cars that are hard to get, the auto dealer only make 24 used cars per month .... that being said, it would make it from "trivial" to "expert" to use the junk yard.

i am sure i know the answer. but i wanted to hear it from you guys, the people that will play it.

BTW. i am playing the Western Ohio map that had been modded for the beta, it is a LOT of fun... i am enjoying the mod.. :D

i could post shots if people want.

Scrap metal isn't a specific enough label. :lol:

I got a question about the cardealers .... they pop up randomly ?

Hm this could be hard if you got all the industry but only small towns with no dealers around the map ;)

But you need only one dealer near your trainstation right ? ( not like you need some buildings so the station accepts mail or goods )


You hav to talk to mayday , so maybe he would make a trailer for cars to put behind his trucks .... would be some kind of realistic i think ... a lokal cardealer wouldn't get a station behind his shop where hundrets of cars are dropped ervery week 8)

it is about the same as parks, fountains, concerthalls .. etc... as soon as the town is can start taking goods.. they spawn. in beta i am deffinatly NOT having a problem. if anything, i might have to turn them down. some smaller towns have 3 or 4 and a some big town none. totaly random. one good think though, they tend to be built to the out side of town.

i reckon you should draw like a small shed or parking lot, that pops up with the buildings that pop up in really small towns... or use the coding from that

i just dont understand how the signal box can b exe and making new locos isnt :shock: :?:

the locos aren't becuase they require extra coding and extra gfx, the signal,s have the same code, they just need diff gfx.

Well for sheer graphical pleasure you could make a signal box and code it as a tree, meaning that you could place it yourself, but then it would disappear, but you get what i mean...

actualy i have a switch tower in game. it looks so-so..

i have not forgotten about the mod.

the beta testers are playing it and i am told it is fun, works well and to easy... makes a lot of money fast.

so i need to nerf it a little and change payouts. this is gf weekend so ill be a bit slow.

That shouldn't be a great matter after all it is possible to create a map with no use of the AI computer players. You can also pley all by you're self i guess ?

I did try and do a signal box as a station that didn't accept any cargo to use for waypoints, but I gave up. I'll probably try again after I finish all the other stuff I'm working on.
