Whooops! Where did they put the brakes?
A train was backed into Malmö station this morning. Unfortunately, the driver forgot to brake (or pulled the wrong lever, or whatever) and went straight into the buffer. The result can be seen here.
No passengers was aboard, and the driver was only 'very slightly injured' says the paper, but the station had to close for a while, as the wagon climbing the engine was dangerously near the catenary.

Well, at least the buffers worked

Re: Whooops! Where did they put the brakes?
Ooof nasty. You lot are short on X2000s aren't you already? Also, haven't they only just re-opened Malmo station? When I was there it was a building sight and severley lacking in facilities.
Re: Whooops! Where did they put the brakes?
Yeah, I guess they're short of X2000's, many of the main routes are done with both X2000's and regular inter-city trains. They're currently in the process of buying new intercity trains (this model) to replace X2000s on less busy routes so that the X2000s can be used between the bigger routes (Malmö - Gothenburg for example)
My Scenarios:
Archipiélago Hermoso (Latest Release: Version 3.2)
Turnpike Falls (Latest Release: Version 0.91)

Yes, they are quite old now, and spend too much time in repair.Ameecher wrote:Ooof nasty. You lot are short on X2000s aren't you already?
Yes, it's been rebuilt into a RoRo (for some tracks), instead of end of all lines. A long tunnel is connecting the city with the bridge over to Denmark. Also, haven't they only just re-opened Malmo station?

Something tells me the speed wasn't 40km/h or so.

SJ really didn't end the year on a good note, eh? Massive delays and cancellations, and now this. Hope 2011 will be kinder to them...
