World Airliners Set - Release Thread

Post by EXTspotter »

Finally a new release! Be warned that this is only an expanded (hugely expanded) alpha. It includes some bug glitches, some features which are undeveloped, some which are in the process of being removed. Also as far as we know it only works on newer versions of OTTD (at least 1.0.2 or newer). Use parameter 1 for the "original pricing", otherwise you'll be paying millions for each aircraft.

We are releasing again as the original build was about 1mb uncompressed. Now it is 7.9mb. Thats a lot of extra bits!

Without further ado, here it is, the World Airliners Set [WAS] - Alpha 2.

Oh thanks! It`s good gift for Christmas. :) And first problem which I find: now WAS is incompatible with big sets like a US train set or Canadian set. :) But thanks!

if you don't use the devzone anymore, do at least upload the source you used for the release or post a link to it...

First greatfull thanks for your upload and the works you put in it,put i test it and WITH!!!!! parameter 1 on you will still pay thousands of dollars for each used aircraft.
For example i will take the Airbus A380 in numbers explanation.
I pay WITH!!!!! WAS Alpha 1, 100,000yr for each used aircraft and WITH!!!!! WAS Alpha 2 i pay 2,300,000 and than i have parameter 1.
If i do not parameter 1 you will pay a lot of more dollars than you pay for each used aircraft 9,400,000yr.
And the payment for carried passengers and mail is variable WITH!!!!! the 2 different WAS.
Maybe for WAS Alpha 3 you can work on the problems.

Greetings,....

You're aware large passenger aircraft do cost millions of dollars each and have enormously high running costs right? I fail to see the bug personally.......

Yes I am aware that they have high operating costs as compared to WAS 1 alpha. And i have at only with the airbus planes!100,000 yr at what they had with WAS Alpha 1 and Alpha 2 now around the 1,000,000 to 3,000,000 yr.
The Boeing planes are perfect , but the Airbus planes are too expensive.
And if the plane (airbus) landed on the airport they will still have running cost about 2,000,000yr and the boeing plane landed they will have zero running cost.
And against that the airbus cost more than what they have offert
great find for the rest!
you personally have not the problem experienced?

Maybe i found the problem! If you put the new grf in a save game what you already started then the running cost going right straight up to 2,000,000.

And when you start a all new game then the running cost will stay about the 100,000 what you have with Alpha 1.But you will still have a problem you can not put the grf in a started game :? because than will the running cost straight up :?

To lower costs all you need to do is set the parameter on 1. I'm just being a little picky. Airbus planes cost more than Boeing ones but they consume less fuel.

Maybe you can read my first message!I tried with parameter 1 and With parameter 1 on ,remains the high cost.
But what I said maybe it's because you are not a new game started but with your existing save game.
I'm already in the year 2334 maybe that will also result to problems with the grf.
And yes the cost of the Airbus planes is in more ways higher than the Boeing, then I'm little picky to , I also prefer Airbus
But with the high running cost,i prefer boeing because they do not have high running cost and they are a lot cheaper than airbus :]

I thought that as well, but I figured out, that they use different Vmax for the different stages of flight.

243Km/h is the Vmax upon takeoff on ground, as soon as the a/c lifts off it rises to 410Km/h as Vmax and when on Flight level/Cruise altitude it goes to the normal one (I think that varies between 743Km/h and 850km/h up to the model).
It does not affect the flight itself, so no problem :)

Could be considered a bug though, as many other a/c are displayed as normal.

We currently have the A319 and A320
I'm going to start with the A321 and give the A330 a try but I guess it isn't easy to make
