[Req] Bus Line
because of I'm not very good in modding, I want to ask somebody to make a bus line.
I think it could be built by the cities and can only used by buses (cannot build tram track on it). I don't know it is possibe to make crossings between normal road and bus line. I think the normal road is need to be modded too. If there is someone, who make it, I mod a few buses, which can use the bus line.

re:request
But if anyone can make the graphics, it'll be enough for me, I think I can make the xml.

Re: [Req] Bus Line
It seems to me that a dedicated bus lane would serve the same purpose as a "private right of way" (off-road) tram line, and may create problems that do not presently exist. For instance, if you used the bus lane tile on a north-south stretch of road, would your trucks on an east-west route be able to cross the intersection?wyctor wrote:because of I'm not very good in modding, I want to ask somebody to make a bus line.

If people are wanting things such as bus lanes and the sort, theres a nifty little thing called waypointing in Lomo. Clicking on bits of road you want your vehicle to travel down often help to segregate all your traffic. One way streets also help to do this too.
Have a play around with it, see what you can do. TBH, the bus lane your wanting would only be to look at, it wouldn't serve any real purpose neither would it stop trucks and the like speeding down them.

Not exactly, TANK. The bus lane couldn't go "off road", because a lane is part of a road. What I was saying, is that the dedicated bus lane (where no other traffic can go) serves the same purpose as the private right of way (off road) tram line. The purpose of the dedicated bus lane is to give buses an exclusive right of way and therefore speed them up in dense traffic conditions. Since Wyctor doesn't use trucks, a dedicated bus lane might do harm more than good. Where there are a lot of buses, they might just stay one behind the other in their "bus lane" and slow each other down, rather than pass in another lane. But if he were to allow the competing AI companies to use trucks, then his "bus lane" would hopefully work exactly as it does in real life.G-TANK-G wrote:well why not make both, one-way and normal, or what you could do is make it function like a tram line, when the lane goes off-road, the buses follow the lane. surely that'll work...... right?

That would be the solution, if road vehicles didn't ignore waypoints and get all confused when the town expands and the roads change.geordie_bri wrote:If people are wanting things such as bus lanes and the sort, theres a nifty little thing called waypointing in Lomo. Exactly! It seems that anything other than trains doesn't work the way it should in this game..metalangel wrote:That would be the solution, if road vehicles didn't ignore waypoints and get all confused when the town expands and the roads change.geordie_bri wrote:If people are wanting things such as bus lanes and the sort, theres a nifty little thing called waypointing in Lomo. Next to that, i think adding things like a dedicated buslane will greatly improve the playabily of the game. It's great that there are many train addons around, but it's a shame no modder turned to making more stations. There are some.. yes, but not enough compared to the amount of trainsets..
I hope that modders will work on these things that are not often done! - Is it perhaps to difficult to create a station/ rail textures e.g.? It would be great if modder would work on these things.. instead of redoing things that are already aroung for example.

i agree with you on that point mate, but i have tried making a station that looks like a depot or a cargobay, but it wouldn't work... maybe i should try 'n' fix it...... anyways, the point is really that i agree on that point also it aint hard for the graphics for the station and i'm using paintshop pro.kazimierz wrote:Exactly! anyways, back to topic. metromaster... i'm sure there's places that actually roads are built just for buses... take holland for instance, if you've been there, theres road for only buses... having that would be cool
I don't know if this has already been discussed, so I apologise if it has, but I couldn't find anything using the search function.
Slightly off topic, but has anyone looked at creating, attempted or released a railway station that only accepts cargo - i.e. coal, iron ore, goods, chemicals etc.
I find it so annoying when there's an industry near a city and the station I'm using becomes engulfed in offices and passengers start waiting at my train station.
Just wondered if someone had looked into it.
Cheers.

railway stations, or road stations? Because the cargo loading bay is in the rollmenu, when you make road stops. I think there aren't any railway station in lomo, where only cargos can wait.andysine wrote:I don't know if this has already been discussed, so I apologise if it has, but I couldn't find anything using the search function.
