New railroad GUI

Post by Co-RNeR »

OK, I'm in doubt whether to post this as a suggesion or as a prob. First I really love the new railroad GUI, but the only ' problem' I have is that I don't seem to be able to determine the direction of railroad extension, i.e. I place a piece of rail and it always extends to the north. Is this a severe case of RTFM? I tried ctl- clicking the rail construction icon but that doesn't seem to help.

Hit the little rotation button, bottom-right.
Also, try one of the other 2 at the top.

I have a problem with the new railroad gui, where if I click on the stations tab, there's no stations shown. If I then click in the middle of the box, the game crashes.

There is meant to be nothing in the station tab atm.
It is a WIP you know...

As for the crash, I get it too, but, why click on something that's blank?

No, I didn't know it was still WIP. (as far as anything in an alpha release being not WIP goes)

As for 'clicking on the blank area' I can easily not click there sure, I was just pointing it out.

I guess you didn't download the gui-graphics? because if you have them, you should have an arrow displaying the direction of the railroad extension, so you can see what you are doing.

I am already aware of the crash, and it is caused by the tab being empty :) It won't be empty for long though, so in future versions this crash will hopefully be gone :P

Make sure to check if someone needs to be credited, MeK. Even if you have no clue you can go wrong these days ;).

How can you active this new GUI? I tried everything but nothing chanced.
I added the switch for LocomotionGUI, but it did nothing (and yes I added the guiw.grf too)

Help please

locomotiongui

Post by FlyCat »

Will there be a way of selecting pieces of track after they are laid in order to demolish them ? Like the explode button in the default GUI. It seems a bit difficult correcting mistakes. I know it is a WIP, but just a thought.

Some neat development there..again... :D

Also it needs to have the Depot and Bridge and tunnel Icon!!!
I personally like the GUI it puts me at ease cuz when i can actually get LOMO ill be used to how it plays, besides that i also have RCT which of course already uses that GUI system anyway...

WIP status / a44 ?

Post by wallyweb »

Was A44 supposed to fix anything with the locomotion gui?

When I set locomotiongui=3 and open the RR tool, the station icon is there but the panel is still blank.

I have guiw.grf - February 13, 2005 9:09:44 AM - Is there a more recent one that includes the stations and if so, where?

This one is really neat ... If I have to shut down TTDX real quick, like late for work or whatever, I just click on that blank space below the station.

Seriously ... it's looking good and if I'm missing something I'd sure like to get it to keep up.

Are you sure you have a44, does it say "alpha 44" in the title of the menu at the beginning?
