Hmm load sprites...it's nice when the sprites show the cargo right? And when there are extra sprites for loading / unloading?

Well to get that done in FISH, I need a collaborator! I have drawn so many load sprites for HEQS I nearly went blind, and I ain't doing it for FISH I tell ya :twisted: At minimum, a collaborator will need good patience and a paint program that can do fill / replace colour. Desire for fame and a glamourous lifestyle is nice, but optional.

i might help a touch with sprites such as cargoes but not the main things like the boats, i have no creativeity so i'll be useless for the boats XD
just give me a list of cargoes and what type they are, i'll give them a go with if you wish

I will also dive in and remind you that I have a nice blender template/gimp palette workflow for rendering 3D in 8bpp company colours... If there are any very tricky shapes (think exciting hull shapes) which need 3D shading I may be able to help. For example see my planes for OpenGFX and the ekranoplan set (which i never finished but really should cos they are such cool machines but its impossible to code anything near the correct speed so i got frustrated and gave up...).

Hmmm, noticed in the latest GRF you have failed to set any running or purchasing costs for any ships
that means a decent coal line over water with the Large Coasters equal instant money with no money loss

FISH update. Lead@inbox is modelling basic hull shapes for me, using Zephyris' Blender templates. I'll paint those up lovingly with pixels in the style to which we are all now accustomed :D

It will take some time to get graphics done, I'm also working on HEQS (as if it didn't have enough dump trucks, I'm adding more...), and on FIRS, and I'm moving house IRL!

Meanwhile a bit on FISH philosophy...

The set will focus on boats for inland waterways and coastal shipping.

Inland waterways will get:
- European style riverboats and canal boats
- US style barge tows
- lake steamers/ferries as found in places like Lake Como.

The coastal shipping will feature:
- small coasters (obviously)
- classic passenger steamers as found on estuaries like the Clyde
- ferries from places like Puget Sound (Seattle)
- work boats / utility boats of the kind used for oil rig service and harbour service.

I'm focussing on 20th century shipping first. What you see in the current test grf is pretty much the range of 20th century ships except for a few ferries. Later I'd like to add sailing ships back to about 1800. No promises though, I don't much fancy drawing sails!

I'm not taking requests, but if anyone has any juicy links to ship pictures, post 'em here ;)

Hmm... I might switch to this... Would my game break if I changed to this from New Ships without deleting any ships?

Yup, absolutely. Complete breakage :twisted:

If you have the engine pool enabled you can *add* FISH to your game (advanced settings -> vehicles -> use multiple newgrf engine sets)
