Unfortunately, I will be unable to work on anything for quite some time, execept for the small projects that can be done in a day or two. Perhaps I'll come up with an idea that I'm able to work on until my time is free.

[EDIT]Just saw something funny, makes me laugh like a... ???. Things like that make me want to work more, much more.
Nice one, Plastikman!!

I've started experimenting again but I have in issue... I don't have any textures to use. If anyone could help please post here listing how you could help.

Plastikman, I have a question. Which generation of coach you are modeling?
  1. Generation 1 - Riveted, cab/coach cab window only
  2. Generation 2 - Riveted, cab/coach has windows on both sides
  3. Generation 3 - Smoth-Sided, cab/coach has windows on both sides
Oops...
Forgot to mention that I postponed the Metrolink project for japanese commuter trains.

I don't want to step on any toes.

No, please proceed, the Metrolink Project is for Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006, not Locomotion...
Project JAPAN is for locomotion though. Have any ideas?

uhh i just turned on the news. bad day for Metrolink

Horrible accident a few hours ago. Metrolink plowed head-on into a UP freight train. the Metrolink loco is smashed deep into the first car that is on its side and on fire.

 WOW, reminds me of a accident on a German high speed line, they had a wheel with steel, rubber, and then steel, the ruber broke and the train folded just like that

No data has been released yet. but that curve is 55-60ish mph for freight and and 79 for passenger. if both trains were head-on and close to full speed. that would be a really hard hit. they are still trying to cut the bodies out (we are 16 hours later?) the death toll is now 20ish and they are still cutting for people.

As far as accidents, i believe this is only the 3rd serious. one was flat out intentional sabotage and one involved a freight train also.

we should probably direct further comments to the general transport thread.

Actuly, that is a low speed curve, say 20-35mph. The media reports i been hearing still say 10 people, but I expect 20 or more dead, the ends of the cars seat 16 people, and add the seats on the top floor, and don't forget the bottom floor. Comes out to over 20 seats...

This is the 2nd freight plowing into a metro service, 4th derailment, 3rd to make it onto Wikipedia (Wow, that was fast!)

I guess it depends on what news channel you watch. the facts are always wrong in the first few waves.

They might as well make the trains out of bubble wrap & travel at a "Safe" speed of 5 Mph.

This crash could have been much different, if the coaches had anti-climbers. Though more of the train would be off the tracks...
