To Late, You're quoted. This map is from 06, Not a lot of sounds back then. sndda9xx is the US dash9 sound. It would have to be a lot older then that. I am going to guess they're not needed since i would also be missing the train it goes with. unless he changed sounds on default stock. I guess we could make "dummy sounds" to fill in the gap.

Rats foiled by that good guy Plastikman...actually I wasn't sure so I kinda half covered on it and being mister dense didn't realise that this is so old that Andel probably was only a youngster when he first played it

OK, so maybe I'm a complete idiot, but more then that, I'm an idiot who would love to play all of these maps....

Ive been reading realy carefully in this thread, and I've tried to make dummy-files - with no luck..... I've tried to make locotool work - with no luck....... AND I've tried to locate Walter1940's packs to obtain the soundfiles - with no luck.....

Please could someone either post the missing files, give i link to them, or make i non-crashing version of the maps!?! - Pretty-please... I'm just to dumb!

Thanks!

A map of the Copenhagen region (Copenhagen 1950) - This works in the standard Locomotion game. The other tow I can´t get to work either. But Denmark is a flat land, so it will be very easy for you to make the scenarios yourself.

I made a new Copenhagen region, because I did not like the one they made, the cities where not correctly chosen and there was to little space available to make the correct Copenhagen central station and central freight terminal.

I'm sad to hear that you can't get the scenarios to work :(

I thought that I had a clean installation, but I can see that I was wrong.
Maybe I will someday try to make a new version of the maps.
I think I still have the greyscale maps, so I only have to place cities and industries.

I know about the problems with the scale of the Copenhagen map.
I also wanted to build the stations at a better scale. If you did a better version of Copenhagen, please upload it, so others can try it out :)
Some time ago I thought about making a route-map style version of some of Copenhagen, but I did not start to build it.

It would be so much better to make scenarios if the maps were bigger like in TTDOpen!

Jimbow.

Well like i said. I mainly made a new map of Copenhagen because I did not have enough room to make the stations/junctions:

Kobenhavn H
Kobenhavn Gb
And the junctions that are around them.
And finally also the port areas north and south with there tracks and industries.

So I made this map – Map part 1 & Map part 2
Map part 1.GIF
Map part 1.GIF (50.63 KiB) Viewed 2760 times
However, because the map is only 384x384 tiles I had to accept some compromises. With the above area in mind, the rest of the map would have to more or less have the same scale. So first I would mainly have to limit the map to Ydre Godslinie, trainline from Vigerslev to Vanlose to Norrebro to Hellerup. And second even doing that would not leave room for the line from Kobenhagen H to to Osterport to Hellerup. So you can see on Map part 1 that I have had to let the line from from Kobenhagen H to to Osterport to Hellerup make an unusual 90 degrees turn – marked in red.

Also having tried the map now I can see a few things I can fix. Moving the Lindevang to Frederiksberg line and towns to the south – marked in black.

There is room for Bernstofsvej and Gentofte plus maybe Lyngby stations/towns – area marked in blue. Blue area would be even bigger if I also moved Fuglebakken to Lersoen south – marked in black.

Room for 1 or two stations after Vanlose – marked in pink.

Map part 2 also shows to areas I have had to turn 90 degrees due to limitations. And the red one is clearly out of scale, but it is the mainline to the rest of the country and therefore it had to be included.

I have not played Locomotion very long so I am also experimenting with various things. Like buildings, of the 2x2 tiles buildings I have only included Concert Hall, Courthouse and Town Square, all 1x1 tiles building have been selected. So far it works. Norreport ( biggest town in game so far ) now has population of 39.000. And I can still see most of the roads in the city center! So far no problems with cities that cannot grow. Another bonus is that the 1x1 tiles buildings actually pretty much can go for danish buildings in and around Copenhagen. Number of passengers and mail does not really seem to be affected, I still have stations in the biggest towns with +1000 passengers waiting

I made the station in Norreport subterrain when the town had a population of 400 and the station will not require any alterations up to year 2008.

But one of the biggest problems I have to accept in the game is the fact that trains CANNOT hold still for very long, if they get tired of waiting for a green signal they reverse. I cannot prevent it, but I can trap them so that no matter how long the next part of the line is occupied they have nowhere else to turn. But this also means that I need extra room for the trains at major stations like you can see on the Kobenhavn H picture. Also most trains reverese at Kobenhavn H ( right now I am at year 1935, and I play with no obsolete vehicles – I will decide what year it is, not the game ) right now, which means that the track either have to be cut immidiately after the station in order to prevent trains merely using the station as a roll-on roll-of. Or I can make the trains UNLOAD at the station then passing through to a swithing-area reverse to Kobenhavn H and LOAD. I use a combination of both ways, as you can see on the picture. And of course the tracks are also divided up in track-groups, just like in real life where train do not choose 1 of 12 tracks by random.

* * *For picture see my next post, just below this one. * * *

Also the station is build partly underground, but it is not correct and as you can see I have not finished it.

But really I only made the map in order to try and run the TRAFFIC around the main stations in Copenhagen. And I think the map needs some more corrections before I am satisfied with it. Plus I do not know how much each of the towns can actually expand, so I might have to add some more.

I only run it with trains and a few trams.

That looks a good map - there have been a few 'routemap' style maps for locomotion before, usually based on British maps using rock walls to help players know where to put routes - search for West Coast Mainline or East Coast Mainline for example. Not sure if you want to put rock walls in this, but if not then players may find a .txt file included telling them where to put the lines useful.

I think the map is very cool

The scale of the map is good, but still you have made most of copenhagen.
I hope you can move some of the cities to make room for the line towards Lyngby.

However it would make me happy, if you could make room for the line towards Kastrup/Sweden in the bottom of the map. But i know it can be hard, because you made the docks at Sydhavnen.

I'm looking forward to play the map ;)

The "time" I had in mind when I made the map was 1900-2000. Because the area with the newest central station was built app. 1915. Also most of the main-lines were more or less constructed around 1910-1920.

After 2000 you will almost not see any freight-trains running on the routes, except if you add the connection to Sweden. But that was not built until 2000. And even then, the freight-trains will only be running trough the map ( From Roskilde crossing south at Vigerslev-junction and moving straight south to Sweden from there, not stopping anywere in the "map" ). So it would only be passenger-trains, which is okay but it might be a bit "boring" in the long run.

I think will edit the map though. But it will have to be a balanced edit. Because the way the map is now there is room for freight-terminals and tracks a lot of places like:

The ports ( various industries & coal/ore loading bays )
Kobenhavn ( Freight terminal & Mail terminal )
Osterport ( Freight terminal )
Frederiksberg ( Freight terminal )
Hellerup North ( Freigh terminal incl. Tuborg )
Charlottenlund ( Freight terminal )
Enghave ( Carlsberg )
Vesterbro ( Slaughterhouses for livestocks )
Vigerslev ( Farmers market )
Valby ( F.L. Schmidt ) & ( Henkel )
Valby ( Powerplant )
Glostrup ( various industries )
+ more

Over time many of these tracks have been closed/removed. So I thought the only way to also run freight trains on a large part of the map, and not just on 1 line, would be to run the trains in Kopenhavn a that time period, and make sure there is ROOM on the map for the freight tracks, and still have room for the passenger-trains.

In any case I have some ideas as to how I can "fit" the things better in the map.

But yes it would be nice to run with more danish trains on it. :D

Has anyone come up with a resolution to the problem relating to SNDA4 being missing? I have tried a search, but all I get are people asking the same question! :(

Dummy sounds for the map, if anyone ever figures out what they are really for, Post it and we can swap them out.
