Plastik - I really like this mod, and if you decide to work on it anymore I would like to see some earlier freight cars so it could be played earlier. Maybe starting in 1930 or cars back to 1945 to match the scrap?
Right now you have cars for:
Scrap Metal - 1945 on
Auto Parts - 1955 on
Automobiles - 1958 on
Plastic Pellets - 1962 on
Anyone else agree?
On a side note, thanks for the woodchip cars you did and I would also love to see earlier woodchip cars...

I am trying to get this mod back to at least 1950 i have some boxcars that date back to the 50's for parts and plastic pellets and a flatbed with autos on it. i would also LOVE if someone could build an autorack semi truck.
we also have ships that hold everything.

Yes, I forgot to mention trucks. It would be great to have (semi) trucks for each of the new cargos: autos, auto parts, plastic pellets and scrap. Especially scrap since it appears in small quantities at the auto dealers. I am looking to expand to new industries. i am not sure when i will get to it. As far as atting glass and electronics and stuff to build a car, due to the way lomo works with building one item from 2 others, if you made the auto chain any longer, you would almost certainly never get any autos.

I gave up on the junk cars idea a while ago (the code is still in the mod just the dat for it is missing), As intresting of an idea it is, again, it makes building any autos almost impossible. altho i am concidering having the cites produce garbage or somthing that you can take to the junk yard (recycling) and turn into steel or goods.

I see.
I also found another problem considering the expansion, Lomo only allows 16 industries to be selected and the map size is not big enough to make room for everything, more limits on it.

Possible change to auto mod,
as it is right now, you take oil to the chemical plant to get plastics and chemicals. you can then take the plastics and the chemicals to the factory to be manufactured into "goods". also. you can take oil to the refinery that that just spits out "goods".
would it make more sence gameplay wise, to move the "plastics" to the refinery so that it makes "plastic" instead of "goods" that you can then take to the factory (or the autoparts plant of course). the chemical plants would then make only chemicals from the oil, that you can then take to a factory to manufacture "goods"
this would have a few big game play impacts, this makes an added step in getting "goods" form the refinery, it would stop you from bypassing the "oil to plastics to goods" that i had intended. it would stop "doppling" the oil into 2 items for the price of 1 at the chem plant. also you cant just make a train of chemicals and plastics at one depot/station and send them to the factory anymore (again doubling the oil unrealisticly).
the only big downside is older maps would need to be "remade" for this patch. save games might still work as they do when saved since the factory data is written to the savegame. i'll probably leave 2.6 on ami for "older" maps. and then just upgrade to ver.3 with the listed changes.
This will probably be made in the next version, but I want to bounce it off of you guys to see if anyone sees any obvious flaws in my idea. (even though the chemical plant seems more obvious for the manufacture of plastic). another option might be to "rename" the refinery into "polyimer refinery" or "plastics factory" or something of this nature.

EDIT: oh, by the way. if you install the auto mod BEFORE North_American_Pack_2_0_Full, the scrap gondola holds a bit more scrap (about 10 tons more if i recall). I later patched the gondola in the US pack 2.0 but never updated the automod pack. if you do go back and re-run that set up, make sure you run North_American_Update_Pack_2.1a_update.rar again for the updates.
I have in the works an update for this pack. I hope to have it for a Christmas.

First of all THANKS Plastikman for this mod. After several years since the first release i still have had a lot of fun with it.
I have beaten the Automod scenario in 33 years 6 months
At the bottom of this post i will post the savegame just before finishing the scenario for the people that want to look how i build it.
I'm also playing a recent scenario now the US square Map wich also makes use of the automod.
I have found 2 small bugs, not that they realy infect the gameplay, but if you have interest in updating this automod in the future you can have a look at it.
They both appear in the 'western ohio auto' scenario and in de 'US Square Map'.
#1 If you go to the screen where you can see the 'cargo payments rates' (see added screen) you can hover over the right colom with your mouse and than the cargo payment lines in the table next to it will blink on and off. All the cargo´s (incl automobiles) will blink but not the plastic pallets and the scrap metal. #2 If you go to the screen from the industries you have 3 different tabs. The middle one is for the history table how much cargo was delivered in the past few years. I don't know if it has to do with the automod but in the gameyear 2003 you can not access that middle tab to see the industries history. Greetings and have fun !

I'm not to worried about minor bugs in the graphs as long as gameplay works and there is a fun value...
I have been meaning to update this mod forever. i have repacked it and placed a few new train cars in it. i just never got around to updating the map.
I had a few changes planned for it.
1 new auto dealer graphics.
2. gas stations
3 the oil refinery will make gasoline/petrol (for the gas stations, [you can see a beta in the dekosoft thread])
4 offer 2 autoplants one that needs both autoparts and steel, and one that only needs autoparts (for noobs that have a hard time).
5 possibly include the woodchip mod and add cut lumber and furnature factory. (this one might just be a new mod).
6 more trains and backdating the comtabilily to the dawn of autos.
7 semi-trucks.. face it, we all want to see autorack semi trucks rolling into town to the auto dealer, not just trains....
